GLORY ALONE — “If He saved you, shaped you, and satisfied you… He deserves the glory from you.”
GLORY ALONE — “If He saved you, shaped you, and satisfied you… He deserves the glory from you.”
Scripture Anchor:
Scripture Anchor:
1 Corinthians 10:31 — “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Romans 11:36 — “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
INTRO – “Let’s land the plane.”
INTRO – “Let’s land the plane.”
Storytime.
You ever notice that when someone finishes a project, they put their name on it?
Artists sign their paintings.
Directors stamp their name on movies.
Sneaker companies put their logo on the side like “You’re welcome.”
Even the dude who makes your Chick-fil-A sandwich writes his initials on the bag.
We naturally want credit for what we create.
Now lean in —
God wants the same thing.
Except He actually deserves it.
He creates… He sustains… He redeems…
It’s all stamped with His initials:
SDG — Soli Deo Gloria — “Glory to God alone.”
And tonight, we are tying the entire FRFR series together with one simple point:
**“If He saved you, shaped you, and satisfied you…
**“If He saved you, shaped you, and satisfied you…
Then He deserves the glory from you.”**
PART 1 — QUICK RECAP: The Road We’ve Walked
PART 1 — QUICK RECAP: The Road We’ve Walked
Let’s walk slowly through where we’ve been — because this finale is only powerful if you know the road behind you.
1. Grace Alone — “The gift you can’t earn.”
1. Grace Alone — “The gift you can’t earn.”
Grace moved before your faith.
Grace is God choosing you when you had nothing to offer.
Grace is the reason you even can believe.
2. Faith Alone — “The trust you choose.”
2. Faith Alone — “The trust you choose.”
Not just believing that God exists…
Believing God enough to obey.
Faith is stepping even when you don’t see the staircase.
3. Christ Alone — “The Author of your story.”
3. Christ Alone — “The Author of your story.”
You can’t edit what He already perfected.
He’s enough to save you and enough to satisfy you.
You drift when you add to what Jesus finished.
4. Scripture Alone — “Your GPS.”
4. Scripture Alone — “Your GPS.”
Teaching, rebuking, correcting, training.
Scripture is how you stay on course.
One degree off for long enough = spiritual crash-landing.
All of that leads us to tonight —
The destination of faith:
5. Glory Alone — “It all ends with Him.”
5. Glory Alone — “It all ends with Him.”
This is the “why” behind everything we’ve preached.
Grace alone → so no one can boast.
Faith alone → so God gets the credit.
Christ alone → because He’s the only One worthy.
Scripture alone → so no one can rewrite the story.
It all funnels down into:
“God gets the glory because God did the work.”
“God gets the glory because God did the work.”
PART 2 — THE BIG IDEA
PART 2 — THE BIG IDEA
“Your life is supposed to reflect Him, not replace Him.”
“Your life is supposed to reflect Him, not replace Him.”
We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.
If you’ve ever been outside at night with a bright flashlight, you know this…
Hold the light straight at your face — it blinds you.
But point it at a mirror — and suddenly the light bounces and shines even brighter.
That’s your life.
The flashlight is our choices
Make your choices in life about what you want. Your desires. You get blinded!
Make choices in your life that expose the who of Jesus, gain even more light to be able to see clearly all around you.
Giving your choices back to the person who gave you the ability to choose, take the power of the light and MAGNIFIES IT from its original source!
**You were never meant to be the source of light.
**You were never meant to be the source of light.
You were meant to be the reflection of it.**
Culture says:
“Shine your own way.”
“Be your own truth.”
“Find your own light.”
But Scripture says:
“In YOUR (God’s) light, we see light.” — Psalm 36:9
“In YOUR (God’s) light, we see light.” — Psalm 36:9
“Let your light SHINE… so they (sinners) may glorify your Father.” — Matthew 5:16
“Let your light SHINE… so they (sinners) may glorify your Father.” — Matthew 5:16
“We all… reflect the Lord’s glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
“We all… reflect the Lord’s glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
We’re all a mirror reflecting something.
We’re all a mirror reflecting something.
The question is:
Are you angled toward God or angled toward yourself?
Because mirrors don’t create light — they catch it and reflect it.
What is your mirror reflecting?
PART 3 — ILLUSTRATION (THE LIGHT & THE MIRROR)
PART 3 — ILLUSTRATION (THE LIGHT & THE MIRROR)
(Use your flashlight here.)
Shine it toward yourself.
“This is when life is about me.”
“My plans.” “My truth.” “My image.”
You blind yourself and no one else is helped.
Now shine at a mirror.
“This is when your life aims at Jesus.”
His glory bounces off your obedience.
His character reflects in your decisions.
His nature shines through your words.
Now watch this — turn the mirror just one degree.
Just one.
The light moves. The reflection changes. The direction shifts.
We are going to reflect whatever we are pointing out light towards.
Point the light at a sign called “ social media
Point at bestfriend sign
Point at boy or girl I like sign
Point at identity politics sign
Point at I’m a Christian sign
Point at I’m a pastor sign
Point out that point your light to anything other than God requires us to point out what we are prideful about.
And that becomes what we reflect and Glorify.
**One degree of pride.
**One degree of pride.
One degree of compromise.
One degree of “My will not Yours.”**
And suddenly…
the glory gets misdirected.
THAT’S why glory matters.
Because what you aim at determines what you reflect.
PART 4 — THEOLOGY MOMENT: WHY IT HAS TO BE GLORY ALONE
PART 4 — THEOLOGY MOMENT: WHY IT HAS TO BE GLORY ALONE
Here comes your apologetics punch.
1. Grace Alone removes your bragging.
1. Grace Alone removes your bragging.
You can’t save yourself → God gets glory.
2. Faith Alone removes your control.
2. Faith Alone removes your control.
You trust His work → He gets glory.
3. Christ Alone removes competition.
3. Christ Alone removes competition.
Only Jesus saves → He gets glory.
4. Scripture Alone removes confusion.
4. Scripture Alone removes confusion.
Only God defines truth → His voice gets glory.
5. Glory Alone removes idolatry.
5. Glory Alone removes idolatry.
Your life points upward → He gets glory.
As Wes Huff says:
“Christianity is not about becoming impressive.
It’s about becoming accurate.”
As Frank Turek says:
“Truth isn’t invented; it’s discovered.”
As Mike Winger says:
“God doesn’t share His glory because no one else can handle it.”
PART 5 — HOW DO WE LIVE “GLORY ALONE”?
PART 5 — HOW DO WE LIVE “GLORY ALONE”?
Here’s where you get practical for students:
1. Aim everything at God.
1. Aim everything at God.
School.
Relationships.
Difficult moments.
Decisions.
Conflicts.
Ask: “Will this reflect God well?”
2. Give God the credit out loud.
2. Give God the credit out loud.
Your wins are really His grace.
Your growth is His Spirit.
Your endurance is His strength.
3. Kill the lie of “my truth.”
3. Kill the lie of “my truth.”
Truth isn’t flexible; people just are.
God’s glory rests on God’s truth.
4. Let Scripture shape your decisions, not feelings.
4. Let Scripture shape your decisions, not feelings.
Feelings are real — but they are not your king.
Faith isn’t fragile when it’s anchored to glory.
5. Let your life be a mirror — not a billboard.
5. Let your life be a mirror — not a billboard.
Billboards say: “Look at me.”
Mirrors say: “Look at Him.”
PART 6 — CLOSING CHALLENGE
PART 6 — CLOSING CHALLENGE
Hold the mirror up again.
Say this:
“This is what you are.”
“This is what you are.”
A reflector.
A carrier of glory.
A mirror for Jesus.
“This is what He deserves.”
“This is what He deserves.”
Your aim.
Your attention.
Your obedience.
Your worship.
Tonight is simple:
**“Don’t drift one degree.
**“Don’t drift one degree.
Don’t dim the light.
Don’t redirect the glory.”**
Because if He saved you,
Because if He saved you,
transformed you,
and carried you…
He deserves the glory from you.
Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory.
Amen.
