4. The Shout – We have some mighty shouts in the Bible, in Judges 7 Gideon defeated the Midianites with 300 men, some trumpets, empty jars, torches and the shout. The Midianites, who when they came into a land the Bible says there were so many that they camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys. They came with livestock and their tents like swarms of locust. There were so many it was impossible to count the men and their camels. Now remember I said Gideon used 300 men, some trumpets, empty jars, torches and the shout and defeated the Midianites.
Another shout I’m sure all of you are very familiar with, is in the 6th chapter of Joshua. We have the story of the walls of Jericho. God told Joshua to march around the walls of Jericho one time for six days with only trumpets sounding, don’t even talk and on the seventh day the Lord told him march around the wall seven times, blow the trumpets and SHOUT! And, what happened to the walls? They fell down and we’re not talking about walls like the block walls we see now around housing tracts today. These walls stood 25 feet high and 20 feet thick in some places and the soldiers could stand on the wall and see for miles. Imagine a soldier standing on the wall watching the children of Israel marching around this wall just blowing trumpets, not talking, they probably thought they were crazy.
Now, I have a question for you, what walls do you need to shout down? There was time to be quiet but look at God, there was also a time to shout. Pray and ask the Lord what time it is? Ladies, is it shoutin’ time for you? Is it time you use your weapons of God? He can handle whatever that problem may be.
So you can
Shout with a voice of triumph
Shout with a voice of praise
Shout unto God for the victory
Hey, hey, give the Lord a shout of praise
Praise can lead us into song which is the next weapon I’m going to talk about.
