“ENJOYING THE BLESSINGS OF GOD”

Theme:

God not only gives blessings
—He invites You to enjoy them in a way that honors Him, strengthens our faith, and blesses others.
When my family recently remodeled our home, it felt like a breath of fresh air.
New paint, open spaces, and cozy corners made every room feel renewed.
Similarly, God refreshes our souls with His blessings.
Just as we enjoy our newly designed rooms,
let us delight in the bountiful blessings God pours into our lives,
reminding us that we are His beloved children.
So today we PRAISE HIM for the Blessings
turn to Ps 150 with me
Psalm 150 ESV
1 Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
it is NOT about US… it MUST be about HIM

I. INTRODUCTION — GOD IS A GIVER

A. God is generous by nature
From creation onward, God pours out blessings.
Blessing is not something we manipulate from God; it flows from His character.
B. Many believers struggle to enjoy God’s blessings
Some feel guilty.
Some take them for granted.
Some miss them because they’re too busy or overwhelmed.
Enjoy God’s blessings in a Christ-honoring way.

II. RECOGNIZE GOD’S BLESSINGS

A. Blessings are not only material

Spiritual blessings – Salvation, forgiveness, peace, wisdom (Ephesians 1:3).
Relational blessings – Family, friendships, church community.
Everyday blessings – Breath, strength, opportunities, provision.
Protection and guidance – Times God saved us from what we never saw.
Your Remodel Project is ON GOING —- ALWAYS

B. Develop a “blessing awareness”

Psalm 103:2 – “Forget not.”
Gratitude opens our eyes to see what God is already doing.

C. Practical application:

Blessing journal: 3 things daily.
Weekly family gratitude moment. CHURCH - COMMUNITY -CHRIST
Pause each morning to acknowledge God’s goodness.

III. RECEIVE GOD’S BLESSINGS WITH HUMILITY AND FAITH

A. We receive blessings, not earn them

James 1:17 “17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
– gift, not wages.
The prodigal’s older brother missed the blessing because he thought he had to earn it (Luke 15).

B. Remove barriers to enjoying God’s blessings

Guilt – Romans 8:1 “1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Pride – Blessings point to the Giver, not our ability.
Unbelief – Some don’t expect God to be good. BUT HE IS ALWAYS GOOD

C. Respond in worship

Blessings should always lead to praise (Psalm 103:1).
Worship transforms the blessing into spiritual strength.
WORSHIP IS LIVING MORE AND MORE LIKE HIM
In Trouble — PRAISE
In Trials —- PRAISE
In Triumph — PRAISE

IV. ENJOY GOD’S BLESSINGS IN A GOD-HONORING WAY

A. Enjoyment is biblical

God “richly provides us with everything to enjoy” (1 Timothy 6:17).
Celebration is part of God’s design (feasts in the Old Testament).

B. Enjoy without idolizing

Blessings should not become replacements for God.
Enjoy them with open hands, not clenched fists.

C. Enjoy them with contentment

Philippians 4:11–13 “11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Gratitude + contentment = Joy.

D. Enjoy them responsibly NOW THAT WE COMMITTED TO THE REMODEL

Stewardship: time, finances, family, opportunities.
Blessings increase our accountability (Luke 12:48).

V. SHARE GOD’S BLESSINGS WITH OTHERS

A. Blessings grow when shared

God told Abraham: “I will bless you… and you will be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2).
God’s blessings move through us, not just to us.

B. Practical ways to share

Encourage someone weekly.
Share resources generously.
Serve in areas of gifting.
Use your story to strengthen someone else.

C. Sharing increases joy

Acts 20:35 – “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
The joy of blessing others multiplies the blessing.

VI. LIVING A LIFE THAT INVITES FURTHER BLESSING

A. Walk in obedience

Obedience positions us under God’s flow of blessing.

B. Stay connected to Christ

John 15:5 – “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Everything fruitful flows from remaining in Him.

C. Maintain gratitude

Gratitude keeps the heart soft and the eyes open.

D. Trust God in the process

Even in trials, God can bring blessing (James 1:2–4).

VII. CONCLUSION — THE GREATEST BLESSING

A. Jesus is the ultimate blessing

All other blessings point us back to the gift of Christ Himself.

B. Call to action:

Recognize
Receive
Enjoy
Share
Walk in gratitude and obedience

C. Closing Scripture:

Psalm 34:8 — “Taste and see that the LORD is good.”
