“The Name Above All Names”

Scripture Focus: Philippians 2:9–11 (NKJV) “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

INTRODUCTION: The Power of a Name and the Glory of His Name

Everything in creation has been identified, labeled, and given a name. From the moment Adam first opened his eyes in the garden, God entrusted man with the divine responsibility of naming—to call things into being by their purpose and nature. Every name carries meaning. Every name reveals identity. Every name carries a sound, a story, and a spirit behind it.
You and I have names that connect us to our lineage, our history, and our purpose. Nations are built around names. Families are identified by names. Even nature bows to the order of names—stars are numbered, oceans are named, storms are titled, and diseases are labeled. Everything visible and invisible has a name attached to it.
But there exists one name that breaks the order of this world. One name that doesn’t just identify, but defines eternity itself. One name that carries authority over every other name ever spoken. It is the name that no sickness can withstand, no demon can ignore, no darkness can silence—the name of Jesus Christ!
When you speak His name, you’re not simply pronouncing syllables—you are releasing heaven’s power into the earth. The name of Jesus is not ordinary; it is holy, weighty, and unmatched. It is the Word made flesh, the Lamb who was slain, the Lion of Judah, and the Resurrected King who reigns forevermore!
When we say “Jesus,” something happens in the unseen realm. Demons tremble. Angels stand at attention. Chains break. Hearts are healed. The atmosphere shifts. Why? Because the name of Jesus carries the very essence of God Himself.
In a world drowning in the noise of other names—celebrity names, disease names, political names, brand names—the Church must rise again to exalt the only name that saves, heals, and redeems. We don’t preach our own name; we preach His name. We don’t gather under our reputation; we gather under His authority.
You see, when you’re in the fire, call on His name. When fear grips your heart, whisper His name. When sickness attacks, declare His name. When your mind is overwhelmed, cry out His name. And heaven responds—because there is still power in the name of Jesus Christ!
Let this be more than theology—let it be revelation. Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. But for the believer, the name of Jesus isn’t just for tomorrow’s bowing—it’s for today’s victory!
So today, as we journey through this message, we are not just talking about a name in history. We are talking about a living name, a breathing name, a saving name. The name that calms storms, conquers death, restores marriages, delivers addicts, and heals cancer.
The question is not whether the name of Jesus has power— The question is: Do you believe in the power that’s in His name?

Point 1: The Name of Jesus Is Heaven’s Seal of Authority

Spirit-Filled Thought: When you speak the name of Jesus, you are carrying heaven’s authorization card into earthly situations. His name is the signature of the Almighty stamped across your prayers, your declarations, and your identity. You don’t speak in your own strength—you stand as an ambassador of the Kingdom. The same authority that raised Christ from the dead lives in you, and when you invoke His name, you are executing heaven’s will on earth.
Enriched Detail: Authority isn’t loudness—it’s legal right. In the spirit realm, the name of Jesus is the badge that silences the accuser and activates angelic reinforcements. When hell sees that name on your lips, it recognizes its defeat.
Supporting Scriptures:
Luke 10:19 – “Behold, I give you the authority…”
Acts 4:12 – “There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Point 2: The Name of Jesus Heals Every Disease

Spirit-Filled Thought: Every sickness has a name—and every name must bow to Jesus. His name penetrates the very fabric of sickness, commanding cells to align with divine order. When you speak His name over your body, you invite resurrection life to flow where death once reigned.
Enriched Detail: There’s a divine frequency in His name. When faith-filled lips declare “Jesus,” the vibration of heaven collides with the vibration of disease, and healing manifests. Jesus’ name is medicine that never expires.
Supporting Scriptures:
Mark 16:17–18 – “In My name they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Philippians 2:10 – “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow…”

Point 3: The Name of Jesus Saves and Delivers

Spirit-Filled Thought: When a sinner calls on the name of Jesus, eternity rushes in. That name breaks chains, opens prison doors, and resurrects dead souls. It’s not the length of the prayer that saves—it’s the name you call upon.
Enriched Detail: Hell has no resistance to a cry wrapped in His name. Demons flee not because of our volume but because of the blood-backed authority behind “Jesus!” His name redeems the past, rewrites the future, and restores dignity to the broken.
Supporting Scriptures:
Romans 10:13 – “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Acts 16:18 – Paul said, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out,” and the spirit left her.

Point 4: The Name of Jesus Conquers the Enemy

Spirit-Filled Thought: Spiritual warfare isn’t about who shouts louder—it’s about who knows the power behind the name. The devil fears only one name—the name that crushed his head at Calvary. When you declare “Jesus,” you are reminding hell of its eternal defeat.
Enriched Detail: Every demonic structure recognizes rank. There is no negotiation, no argument—the moment Jesus’ name is spoken in faith, spiritual opposition collapses. The name of Jesus is the password of victory that shuts the gates of hell.
Supporting Scriptures:
James 2:19 – “Even the demons believe—and tremble!”
Mark 1:27 – “He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.”

Point 5: The Name of Jesus Brings Peace and Power

Spirit-Filled Thought: The same name that heals the sick also hushes storms. His name carries both thunder and tenderness—power and peace intertwined. When chaos surrounds you, whisper “Jesus,” and peace will wrap around your heart like a warm cloak.
Enriched Detail: Peace isn’t the absence of trouble—it’s the presence of the Prince. His name stands as a shield between your soul and the storm. One mention of Jesus releases the calm of heaven into the confusion of earth.
Supporting Scriptures:
Mark 4:39 – “Peace, be still!”
John 14:27 – “My peace I give to you.”

Point 6: The Name of Jesus Unites Heaven and Earth

Spirit-Filled Thought: His name is the bridge where heaven kisses earth. When you gather and worship in His name, angels join the chorus. The invisible becomes tangible, and the atmosphere becomes a doorway of glory.
Enriched Detail: The name of Jesus carries spiritual gravity—it pulls heaven downward. That’s why miracles break out when His name is exalted. Worship is not entertainment; it’s alignment—bringing earth into sync with the throne room of God.
Supporting Scriptures:
Matthew 18:20 – “Where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Colossians 3:17 – “Whatever you do…do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Point 7: The Name of Jesus Deserves Our Worship and Surrender

Spirit-Filled Thought: The name above all names demands the posture of total surrender. It’s not a name to be used casually—it’s a name to be worshiped reverently. When we exalt His name above our desires, our fears, and our ambitions, heaven invades our lives with glory.
Enriched Detail: Every time you bow your heart to Jesus’ name, you declare that He alone is Lord. The universe was created through that name, redeemed through that name, and will one day bow before that name. To live under His name is to live under His reign.
Philippians 2:10–11 – “Every knee shall bow… every tongue confess.”
Revelation 19:16 – “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

CONCLUSION: There Is Still Power in the Name of Jesus

Everything has a name — but only one name holds eternal power. Names may carry fame, but only one name carries fire. Titles may hold position, but only one name holds resurrection. Every name known to man — presidents, kings, nations, diseases, storms — must bow to the name of Jesus Christ!
The name of Jesus is not outdated. It’s not a relic of history. It’s alive, burning, and unstoppable. When you speak His name, you are declaring to all creation: “The King has spoken!”
At that name, darkness flees. At that name, sickness dissolves. At that name, depression loses its grip. At that name, marriages are restored, prodigals return, and hearts are healed. There is no courtroom, hospital room, or prison cell that can silence the sound of His name!
Child of God, you are not powerless—you are named after the One who conquered death. When you walk into your workplace, your home, your community, remember: you carry the name above all names inside of you. Demons recognize it. Angels respond to it. Heaven backs it.
Lift your head, believer. Speak His name again. Declare His authority again. Worship with holy boldness again. Because there is still wonder-working power in the name of Jesus!
And one day—when time gives way to eternity—every tongue will confess it, every creature will acknowledge it, and every crown will be cast down before the throne of the One whose name is Love, whose name is Power, whose name is JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

🔥 CLOSING PRAYER: “The Name That Still Works”

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, We thank You that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Today we lift high the name that conquered the grave, the name that silences storms, the name that restores broken lives — the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we bow before You in awe. We declare that every sickness, every fear, every stronghold, every addiction must bow to the authority of Your name. Let healing flow right now. Let peace descend right now. Let salvation flood this place.
Jesus, we surrender our hearts, our homes, our cities to You. Let Your name be exalted in our mouths and magnified in our lives. Let the Church rise again to carry Your name with honor and fire.
We speak Your name over America. We speak Your name over California. We speak Your name over every family represented here. Reign, King Jesus, reign in power, reign in glory, reign in love.
And now, Holy Spirit, seal this word in every heart. Let faith ignite, let hope be reborn, and let courage arise in the authority of the name that is above every name — JESUS CHRIST, SON OF THE LIVING GOD!
We pray, we believe, and we declare — Amen and Amen!
