GOD’S FAITHFUL PROTECTION
GOD’S FAITHFUL PROTECTION
Vernon McGee’s exposition of 1 Corinthians 10:13 emphasizes
God’s faithful protection and provision during trials.
What does God do?
How does He protect us?
Look at 1 Cor 10:13. 1 Cor 10:13, “No temptation,” “Or trial” “has overtaken you but such as is common to man.”
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13.…
You are not the only person who have been here.

VERNON MCGEE
He highlights that all trials or satanic attacks are controlled by God,
who only allows a certain amount to get through
1. McGee particularly stresses
that God not only limits the extent of temptation
but simultaneously provides an escape route.
Crucially, he points out that most people miss this escape route because
they are focused on the trial itself,
not looking for the way out
1.Interestingly, McGee notes that God’s purpose
is not to provide an immediate escape from the trial,
but to give believers a way to endure and pass through it.
He will create mechanisms and doors to help Christians get through their challenges,
with the ultimate goal of helping them pass the test
1. McGee also emphasizes that
this promise
is based on God’s faithfulness,
not on feelings,
and encourages believers to trust God’s faithfulness
even when their emotions suggest otherwise
- just as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane1
