Don't be weary in well doing

Galatians6:9

TITLE OF MY MESSAGE: DON’T BE WEARY IN WELL DOING

This means to NOT grow weary of doing good because eventually you will be rewarded with a harvest.

After exhorting the believers in Galatia and warning them of the things they should avoid ( Galatians 5:1-6:8), Paul may have known they would be feeling overwhelmed with the responsibilities of the Christian life, So he encouraged them with the words of verse 9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up!

Paul perhaps better than anyone else knew how weary the spiritual battle can be, He ends his warnings about sin, the works of the flesh and the deceitfulness of the world by encouraging the Galatians and all believers to remember the joyful harvest we will reap if we persevere in doing good as we have opportunity. Paul says in the next verse Galatians 6:10 let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. We all know what it means to do good and not evil, Paul has summarized the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit which will result in doing good. It involves yielding to the Spirit and exhibiting the fruit he produces- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When these are dominant in our lives doing good is the inevitable result. We need this exhortation to not grow weary in doing good because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. In our own natural weakness and opposition of evil spirits and evil people the best intentions of doing good can easily be derailed. We often feel there is so much work to be done that we cannot possibly do it all. There are so many needs that call on our time, energy and finances, and there is often so much that we become exhausted and disheartened. Doing what is right and moving forward is not easy at times in this fallen world, especially when it seems no one notices and there is little recompense for all our troubles, Some may ask is it even worth serving the Lord because things can seem so hard.… but I will whole heartly say YES it is worth serving the Lord

There is a prize at the end of our labors for those who preserve in doing good and we are promised we will reap a reward,

I know there’s a lot of you that are faced with daily battles rather in your life, your family, your job and just day to day BATTLES We can become discouraged.

HERE ARE THREE THINGS TO HELP US

number 1 Stay focused-Keep your eyes, heart and mind on Jesus

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.”

THIS MEANS WE HAVE AN UNWEAVERING SENSE OF SECURITY AND CALM THAT COMES FROM FOCUSING ON GOD AND HIS PROMISES THAN ON THE CAOS

When it seems like your world is falling apart rapidly and things are totally out of your control. Stay focused- Keep your eyes, heart and mind on Jesus, When WE ARE SICK IN OUR BODY OR SUFFERING WITH PAIN and WHEN our loved ones are sick AND SUFFERING stay focused- Keep your eyes, heart and mind on Jesus.

WHEN ITS SEEMS LIKE YOUR WORLD MAY BE FALLING APART AND THINGS SEEM OUT OF CONTROL STAY FOCUSED-KEEP YOUR EYES, HEART AND MIND ON JESUS

WHEN THE DOCTOR GIVES YOU A NOT SO IMPRESSIVE REPORT-KEEP YOUR EYES, HEART AND MIND ON JESUS BECAUSE OUR GOD GIVES THE OFFICIAL REPORT AND HE SAYS BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED

When your co-workers come against YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER COMES AGAINST Stay focused- Keep your eyes, heart and mind on Jesus. GOD WILL FIGHT YOUR BATTLES FOR YOU IF YOU ALLOW HIM TO! WE DON’T HAVE TO FIGHT OUR BATTLES IN THE FLESH. GOD CAN SHUT THE MOUTHS OF THE LIONS THAT ARE SPEAKING AGAINST YOU!

IF THE TRIALS YOU WOKE UP FACING THIS MORNING HAVE DRAWN YOUR FOCUS AWAY FROM GOD’S PROMISES REMEMBER TO FIX YOUR EYES ON OUR SAVIOR. HE’S THE ONE THAT WILL PERFECT YOUR FAITH. WHEN WE FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, WE RESET OUR PERPECTIVE OF GOD’S GREATER PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE AND YOUR DAILY STRUGGLES LOSE THEIR POWER!

GOD NEVER INTENDED FOR US TO CARRY THAT BURDEN ALONE. IN OUR WEAKNESS, HE IS STRONG. JESUS SAID IN 2 Corinthians 12:9 “ My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

WE CAN RELY ON HIM TO BE PRESENT IN OUR CURRENT CIRCUSTANCES AND KNOW HE IS WORKING ALL THINGS TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD!

2ND STAND FIRM-DON’T ALLOW THE STORMS OF LIFE TO TOSS YOU TO AND FRO STAND FIRM

Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

THIS MEANS TO ACTIVELY PUT ON THE WHOLE SPITITUAL ARMOR OF GOD TO BE PREPARED AND READY TO WITHSTAND SPIRITUAL ATTACKS FROM THE DEVIL. BE UNSHAKEN!! WE MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH GOD’S PROVISIONS SO WE CAN STAND FIRM AND RESIST TEMPTATIONS, PERSECUTION AND OTHER SPIRITUAL PRESSURES DURING DIFFICULT TIMES. YOU MUST KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS AND WHEN THE ENEMY COMES AGAINST YOU OR YOUR FAMILY YOU CAN REBUKE HIM IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND PUT THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS TO FLIGHT. WE HAVE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS! WE ARE NOT WHIMPY DISHRAG CHRISTIANS! WE ARE SOLDIERS IN THE ARMY OF THE LORD AND WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS WHO STRENGTHS US! DON’T GIVE UP ! DON’T GIVE IN STAND FIRM!

STAY STRONG- Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

WE HAVE AUTHHORITY THROUGH JESUS TO SPEAK TO THE MOUTAINS IN OUR LIFE.

JESUS TAUGHT US IN MARK 11:23 THAT IF A PERSON HAS FAITH AND DOES NOT DOUBT IN THEIR HEART THEY CAN SAY TO MOUTAIN BE REMOVED AND CAST INTO THE SEA AND IT WILL HAPPEN, THIS MEANSTHROUGH FAITH WE CAN OVERCOME SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTIES. THIS IS CONNECTED TO THE POWER OF PRAYER, BELIVING THAT GOD WILL ACT ON YOUR BEHALF WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR IN PRAYER BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IT!

TELL STORY OF GOD HEALING BROOKE.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

PROCLAIM GODS POWER AND HIS GLORY AND THANK HIM IN ADVANCE FOR WHAT HE’S GOING TO DO RATHER THAN JUST TALKING TO GOD ABOUT PROBLEMS TELL YOUR PROBLEMS WHO YOUR GOD IS!

GOD IS STILL A MIRICLE WORKING GOD. WE HAVE HEARD TESTIMONY AFTER TESTOMINY OF ONES WHO HAVE BEEN HEALED. I KNOW GOD IS DOING A MIGHTY WORK IN LIBERTY COMMUNITY. I KNOW WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE DOORS OF THIS CHURCH THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALREADY HERE BECAUSE I FEEL IT. I KNOW GOD IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL WE COULD ASK OR THINK ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKS IN US! GOD HAS IMMENSE POWER TO ACCOMPLISH GREATER THAN OUR HUMAN MINDS CAN IMAGINE. DON’T GET WEARY ! WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT! DON’T GET WEARY! KEEP PRESSING ON, KEEP MOVING FORWARD WITH GOD HOLDING ON AND BELIEVING! CHURCH WE HAVE COME TO FAR TO TURN BACK NOW! GOD KNOWS WHERE WE ARE AND EVERY DIFFICULTY WE FACE. HE KNEW YOU BEFORE YOU WERE FORMED IN YOUR MOTHERS WOMB AND IF HE KNOWS THE NUMBER OF HAIRS ON OUR HEAD HE HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU.
