Christ Came to Deliver Us from Sin

1 John 3:4–5 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.”
Christ Appeared and Dealt with Sin
Sin is Lawlessness, rebellion, a defiant disregard and rejection of God’s rightful rule as Lord.

Practicing sin is nothing less than spitting in the face of Christ and what he did for you on the cross of Calvary
Jesus flipped tables over in the Temple, If he stepped foot in your life what tables would he flip over??
Because the predicament of sin is so great, a great rescue is required.
Jesus was revealed to us so he could take away our sins
John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Our sin was taken away and paid for by Jesus’ bloody dealth upon the cross of calvary. He was nailed upon the cross, lifted up, removed from the cross and when they carried away our savior they not only buried him but our sins with him!!
Jesus could only do what He did because of who He was
“There is no sin in him”!!
His sinlessness is part of what qualified him to be the sacrifice for out sin
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Has Christ taken away your sin?
If Christ hasn’t taken your sin way, why not??
Why are you hanging on?
