Joseph honored God, and God honored Joseph

Joseph’s trust in God is clear in his response to Pharoah as well as in the names of his sons.

Joseph beautifully typifies Jesus Christ in this passage in many ways.

Suffering gives way to glory

raised up from the pit

faithful testimony before kings

Exalted to the right hand of power

Bow the knee

thirty years old

Lord of his people

bearer of God’s Spirit

forgiving toward those who wronged him

savior and sustainer of the whole world

what he says to you do

discerning and wise
