Theme: God revives dry bones — no matter how long they’ve been lifeless.
Main Text: Ezekiel 37:1–10 (NIV)
Opening
Opening
Revival is more than emotion —
IT’S NOT JUST EMOTIONAL EXCITEMENT
TRUE REVIVAL BRINGS LASTING SPIRITUAL CHANGE
it’s resurrection.
It’s God stepping into the places we’ve accepted as “dead” and saying.......“Live again.”
Last week we stirred the gift.
This week,
God wants to breathe into places we stopped believing could ever recover.
Every one of us has an area in our life that feels like a valley of dry bones.
OH COME ON, YOU KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT
I’M TALKING ABOUT marriage that’s lost its spark.
A dream that died somewhere along the way.
A call ON YOUR LIFE THAT you buried.
A place in you that has been empty for years.
I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND...
the God who formed Adam from dust…
The God who breathed life into dead Lazarus
The God who raised Jesus from the grave…
…is still breathing today.
And when He breathes —
Dry places become living places.
Defeated people become standing armies.
What WAS ONCE DEAD..... begins to rise.
Let’s LOOK AT THE VISION OF REVIVAL THAT GOD GAVE EZEKIEL.
📖 Scripture – Ezekiel 37:1–10
1 The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ ” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
OH MY LORD....BREATHE ON US AGAIN
YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAN THAT.......
1. God Leads Us Into the Valley Before He Leads Us Out of It
1. God Leads Us Into the Valley Before He Leads Us Out of It
Ezekiel didn’t wander into the valley —
the Bible says God brought him there.
That means revival often starts in the very place we least want to be.
OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....
Sometimes God lets you see how dry it is
so you’ll stop pretending it’s alive.
Ezekiel didn’t see slightly weak bones —
He saw “very dry” bones.
Bones that had been dead a long time.
God told Abraham, “Your wife Sarah will have a son.”
But her womb was dead. Her age was against her.
Romans 4:19 says:
19 And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb.
“His body was as good as dead… and so was Sarah’s womb.”
But GUEST WHAT????
God specializes in hopeless places.
OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....
🔥 Preaching Moment:
The valley does NOT expose your failure —
the valley exposes God’s opportunity.
If it was still alive, you wouldn’t need revival.
But GUESS WHAT.....
because it’s dead, God IS GONNA GET the glory.
Where is your valley?
Your marriage?
Your confidence?
Your calling?
Your faith?
CHURCH.....Don’t TRY TO hide your valley from God —
GOD SEES YOUR DRY BONES...
AND GUEST WHAT...... He can resurrect you RIGHT WHERE YOU LAY
TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR....
GOD CAN BREATHE LIFE INTO YOU TODAY
2. Revival Begins With Honest Assessment
2. Revival Begins With Honest Assessment
God asks Ezekiel,
“Can these bones live?”
Ezekiel answers,
“Sovereign Lord, You alone know.”
He didn’t say “Yes” out of delusion.
He didn’t say “No” out of despair.
He said, “God, if it lives, it’s because You did it.”
OH MY LORD.......GOD YOU ALONE KNOW....
IF YOU WANT THESE BONES TO LIVE.....
ONLY YOU CAN DO IT
CHURCH....
Revival starts when we stop lying to ourselves and start listening to God.
The Widow With Empty Jars
The Widow With Empty Jars
In 2 Kings 4, a widow tells Elisha her house is in crisis —
debt, loss, hopelessness.
Elisha asks her,
“What do you have in your house?”
She says, “Nothing… except a little oil.”
IT WAS HER Honesty THAT unlocked the miracle.
You don’t need to pretend everything is okay —
you just need to place what you do have in God’s hands.
Revival isn’t God judging your emptiness —
revival is God filling your emptiness.
YOU GOTTA Be honest.
Where are you tired?
Where are you bitter?
Where do you feel numb?
Honesty isn’t weakness —
it’s the doorway to restoration.
3. Revival Requires Your Voice — God Won’t Speak For You
3. Revival Requires Your Voice — God Won’t Speak For You
God told Ezekiel:
“Prophesy to these bones.”
Then again:
“Prophesy to the breath.”
God didn’t speak —
He told Ezekiel to speak.
Why?
OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....WRITE THIS DOWN
Because revival is a partnership.
God provides the power;
you provide the obedience.
I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND THIS....
God won’t resurrect what you refuse to speak to.
In 1 Kings 18, Elijah didn’t wait for the clouds to gather.
He declared,
“There is the sound of heavy rain,”
before there was a cloud in the sky HE SPOKE LIFE....
OH MY LORD....
He spoke revival before he saw it.
Stop saying
“It will never change.”
Stop saying
“It’s too far gone.”
Stop saying
“This is just the way things are now.”
LISTEN TO ME.....
Your words either feed the dry bones or
breathe life into them.
This week, declare over your valley: LET’S SAY THIS TOGETHER RIGHT NOW...
“My home will live again.”
“My mind will be restored.”
“My calling is waking up.”
“My spirit is catching fire again.”
OH COME ON.......IF YOU BELIEVE THAT.....SAY AMEN
Your valley is waiting for your voice.

4. God’s Breath Finishes What Your Effort Starts
4. God’s Breath Finishes What Your Effort Starts
Ezekiel preached,
and the bones came together.
Tendons appeared.
HE SPOKE.......AND Skin BEGAN TO COVER them.
The structure was there…
but there was no breath in them.
LISTEN CHURCH....
You can rebuild structure without breathing life.
You can fix your schedule… and still be empty.
You can serve in church… and still be numb.
You can look alive… AND not be alive.
It wasn’t complete until the Spirit breathed.
EXAMPLE...Pentecost
EXAMPLE...Pentecost
In Acts 2, the disciples were together,
believing,
waiting…
but still powerless.
They had the structure — but not the breath.
Then SUDDENLY:
OH COME ON.....
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
GOD BREATHED—
and timid disciples became bold apostles.
Fearful followers became fearless witnesses.
A hidden group became a mighty church.
THIS IS REVIVAL
🔥 Preaching Moment:
Structure is good.
Habits are good.
Discipline is good.
But without the breath of God,
it’s all just bones with skin.
I CHALLENGE YOU....
I CHALLENGE YOU....
Every day this week:
Invite the breath of God.
Pray, “Holy Spirit, breathe on me again.”
Before you speak — breathe.
Before you serve — breathe.
Before you confront — breathe.
Let Him fill what you can not fix.
.....STAND TO YOUR FEET......
Closing – When God Breathes, You Become an Army
Closing – When God Breathes, You Become an Army
Verse 10 says:
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
Not a crowd.
Not a congregation.
Not a collection of bones.
An army.
OH MY LORD HELP US.....
Revival doesn’t just restore life —
revival restores purpose.
You’re not revived to feel better —
you’re revived to live better.
To walk in power.
To reclaim your identity.
To stand
To fight, not fold.

CALL FOR SALVATION
IF YOU DON’T KNOW CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR......YOU ARE DEAD BONES.....
WELL PASTOR CHRIS THAT SOUNDS HARSH
WELL LETS LOOK WHAT THE SCRIPTURE SAYS ABOUT IT
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
This is spiritual resurrection, directly connected to the imagery of Ezekiel’s dry bones.
