Living out the gospel. 12-16 ROMANS 1:1-7 GOD IS INVITING YOU TO SALVATION, HOLINESS, AND SERVICE THROUGH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST! ROMANS 1:8-17 PASSIONATELY STAND WITH THE GOSPEL THAT WILL TRANSFORM PEOPLE’S LIVES. Wrath of God ROMANS 1:18-32 WRATH OF GOD 1. God’s wrath is upon the ungodly who reject truth. 18-23 2. Man’s rejection of the truth about God results in man’s worship of creation. 24-25 3. Man’s creation worship leads to rejecting God’s natural order for personal lusts. 26-31 4. The consequence of man’s rejection of God is eternal damnation. 32 REJECTING THE TRUTH OF GOD LEADS TO GOD’S JUDGMENT OF A SIN FILLED LIFE AND ETERNAL DAMNATION. APPLICATION 1. Sin ultimately is rejecting the reality of God and choosing to live life your own way. Acknowledge the reality of God and submit to God. 2. A life filled with sin is ultimately a reflection of that person’s rejection of God! Their sin didn’t lead to the rejection of God, but their rejection of God led to their sin. APPLICATION 3. Recognize the destructiveness of living for one’s own desires rather than living holy and righteous. Destruction for today and eventual destruction in God’s judgment. Remember that sinfulness that man views as good is actually God’s judgment. Life that is filled about living for self. APPLICATION 4. I must take my sin seriously – when I live according to my own desires it is me rejecting God’s desires. 5. Man in his depravity rejects God; I must live a life that points people to God. Don’t be ashamed. APPLICATION 6. In parenting, remember that one of our greatest goals is to help our kids deal with the reality of God and to point them to this truth giving them the opportunity to accept the truth of God. Their choice to accept or reject will be theirs. APPLICATION 7. Don’t forget the context of all of Romans – God is in the business of transforming lives. REJECTING THE TRUTH OF GOD LEADS TO GOD’S JUDGMENT OF A SIN FILLED LIFE AND ETERNAL DAMNATION.
