BIG IDEA:
The fear of the Lord doesn’t weaken you — it anchors you.
When you live in holy reverence, you don’t fear the world, people, or the future.
The one who kneels before God can stand before anything.
KEY TRUTH:
KEY TRUTH:
Fear of God drives out every lesser fear.
Reverence gives us roots, confidence gives us courage.
INTRODUCTION:
INTRODUCTION:
Recall the trilogy’s journey:
Revival Fire taught us to burn again.
We Are Builders taught us to build again.
On Your Knees teaches us to bow again.
Week 5 is the moment we rise.
The fear of the Lord doesn’t paralyze believers; it liberates them from everything else that used to control them.
Quote John Bevere:
“The fear of the Lord doesn’t make you run from God — it keeps you close to Him.”
Transition: When you live on your knees, your life finally stands tall.
Reverence Produces Refuge
Reverence Produces Refuge
26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And his children will have refuge.
The world tells you confidence comes from performance.
God says confidence comes from proximity — those who fear Him dwell near Him.
To fear the Lord is to live aware of His nearness, not afraid of His distance.
Application: Confidence is not swagger — it’s security in God’s presence.
Illustration: Like a child holding a parent’s hand through a storm — trembling outside, but at peace within.
Reverence Builds Resilience
Reverence Builds Resilience
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.
Fear of the Lord isn’t static; it’s living water — it sustains.
It keeps your soul fresh when fear of man would dry it up.
Reverence renews resilience because your confidence no longer depends on outcomes.
Application: You can endure what others escape, because you draw life from a deeper well.
llustration: Daniel before the lions — he trembled before God long before the lions ever did before him.
Reverence Brings Rest
Reverence Brings Rest
23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, So that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.
Reverence births peace.
Those who truly fear the Lord don’t live restless lives; they live restful ones.
When you fear God, you stop fearing loss, failure, rejection, and death.
Application: The more you kneel, the less you strive.
Illustration: Think of Jesus asleep in the storm. He feared only His Father’s will, so He feared nothing else.
Fear Transformed to Faith
Fear Transformed to Faith
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
God doesn’t remove holy fear; He transforms it into love-driven confidence.
When we’re filled with awe, we’re emptied of anxiety.
Confidence is not the absence of fear — it’s the presence of God rightly revered.
Response
Response
“We began this series at the altar — repenting, consecrating, rebuilding.
We end it here — on our knees, but unafraid.
The fear of the Lord doesn’t push us down; it holds us up.
The ones who bow lowest rise strongest.”
Call to Action:
Invite people to physically kneel as a symbol of surrender and confidence restored.
Pray Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
MONDAY MESSAGE CONNECTION:
MONDAY MESSAGE CONNECTION:
When a home is rooted in reverence, its members walk in confidence.
When we fear God, surrender becomes lifestyle, purity becomes protection, and peace becomes posture.
This is the evidence of revival — hearts that bow and lives that stand.
