Persecuted but not Defeated
Matthew 5:10 “10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.”
What are some things you compromise on a daily bases.
Where you live.
Where you work.
Where you go out to dinner.
What about things you can’t compromise on?
No one is allowed to harm my family.
Jesus is the only way to heaven.
There is no other God but Jesus.
The Bible is God’s Word and we are to follow it even when we don’t like what is says.
SO what happens when you live in a world of compromise and there are things you want compromise on? (Persecution)
Persecution come because of righteousness sake.
Righteousness: right living with GOD or Rightly dividing right form wrong.
What happen when you say what is right and wrong.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue
When you hear the music you must fall down and worship
King N brought all the leaders to worship the gold statue
If anyone do not worship you will be thrown in the fire.
The King was told that three men did not worship the statue.
So he brought Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in and told them when you hear the music bow down and worship.
They did not worship!
This put Nebuchadnezzar in a furious rage and order the furnace to be heated 7x the normal heat.
The fire was so hot it killed the men how throw them in the fire.
Daniel 3:24–30 CSB
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in alarm. He said to his advisers, “Didn’t we throw three men, bound, into the fire?” “Yes, of course, Your Majesty,” they replied to the king. 25 He exclaimed, “Look! I see four men, not tied, walking around in the fire unharmed; and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” 26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the door of the furnace of blazing fire and called, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God—come out!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire. 27 When the satraps, prefects, governors, and the king’s advisers gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men: not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel and rescued his servants who trusted in him. They violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I issue a decree that anyone of any people, nation, or language who says anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego will be torn limb from limb and his house made a garbage dump. For there is no other god who is able to deliver like this.” 30 Then the king rewarded Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
We will not worship a false god we only worship the one true GOD.
It doesn’t matter what the consequences are we will not compromise.
Matthew 5:10–12 CSB
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. 11 “You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me. 12 Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
It doesn’t matter what the world says about you it only matter what Jesus knows about you.
Will you stand for Jesus?
