Advent: Hope

From the Beginning

Protoevangelium Genesis 3:15 “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.””

What was Gods plan from the beginning. the grand narrative of Scripture and the hope that we hang our faith on was not something that came out of the blue 2000 years ago it was promised long before at the beginning of the world so that we would have hope for things to come.

And I want to take us through this hope that is presented in the first part of Genesis and see that as we read the bible there are points in the story where we are looking for this promised Child and if we have been waiting for the return of Christ in anticipation in the same way the people of Israel and I would say the entire world was waiting for the birth of the promised offspring that God promised in this chapter. So we are going to look at all the promised children throughout the bible and see how they gave hope to their individual contexts but more than that is how they pointed to the coming of the Son of God and the birth of Christ Jesus.
