Revive Us Again – Week 4: The Glory Returns

Theme: Revival reaches its completion when God’s presence not only touches His people — but returns to dwell among them as it once did.

Opening

Throughout this series, we’ve watched God awaken what was dead:
Week 1 — When the Fire Goes Out We learned that revival begins when we recognize the flame has dimmed, and we return to our first love. God doesn’t condemn the dying ember — He reignites it.
Week 2 — Stir Up the Gift We discovered the gifts God placed in us were never lost — only buried. Fear may silence, but faith stirs. What God put in you was meant to burn.
Week 3 — Breathe Again We stood in the valley with Ezekiel and watched God bring dry bones to life. What looked dead was not done. Revival isn’t resurrection of memory — it’s resurrection of purpose.
But today… we reach what all of that was preparing us for:
THE GLORY.
We learned that revival doesn’t end with excitement, emotion, or noise —
it ends with God dwelling among His people.
Revival begins with fire, but it ends with glory.
Fire purifies. Wind revives. Breath restores. But GLORY REMAINS.
OH COME ON SOMEBODY....
Revival is not complete when people shout — Revival is complete when God Himself returns.
IT’S Not JUST visitation… IT’S habitation.
Not JUST moments OF FEEL GOOD… I’M TALKING ABOUT....manifestation.
The question today is not,
"Can God move?" BECAUSE He already has.
The question is:
"Can we host what He’s returning?"
2 Chronicles 7:1–3 NIV
1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “He is good; his love endures forever.”

Notice the order IN THIS PASSAGE:
Prayer
Sacrifice
Fire
GLORY
The glory didn’t come on talent.
It didn’t come on structure.
It came on surrender.
OH MY LORD HELP US...
UNDERSTAND THIS.... God does not fill what man still controls.
He fills what man has laid down.
WHEN WE DECIDE TO SURRENDER....IS WHEN GOD SHOWS UP AND HIS GLORY BEGINS TO FILL YOUR LIFE

1. The Glory Returns When Honor Is Restored

Glory does not appear where God is common.
Psalm 24:7–8 NIV
7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
OH MY LORD.....
HE IS SAYING....
YOU ARE THE WAY BY WHICH THE KING OF GLORY COMES IN BUT....
HE SAID....LIFT YOUR HEADS OH GATES AND ANCIENT DOOR
WAKE UP.....PAY ATTENTION
PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE GLORY OF THE LORD TO ENTER THERE IN
HE IS TALKING ABOUT THE RESTORATION OF HONOR.....
OH COME ON SOMEBODY....
YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS....
honor creates access.
TOO OFTEN I BELIEVE THAT...
THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT HAS BECOME....
TOO COMMON IN CHURCHES AND HOUSEHOLDS TODAY....
WE HAVE BECOME SO CALOUSED AND DESENSITIZED TO SPIRITUAL THINGS
WE HAVE LOST OUR FIRE
WE HAVE GOT TO LIFT OUR HEADS

Eli vs. Samuel

IN 1 SAMUEL....
Eli (THE HIGHT PREIST) tolerated sin in the house of God —HIS FAILED TO DISCIPLINE HIS SONS....(HOPHNI AND PHINEHAS)
AFTER THE DEATH OF THEM BOTH AS WELL AS ELI
PHINEHAS’S WIFE HAD A SON AND AFTER GIVING BIRTH....SHE DIED AS WELL
SHE NAMED HER SON....ICHABOD
Ichabod: “The glory has departed.”
LATER WE SEE....
Samuel restored reverence for God’s voice — and the prophetic word returned.
🔥 Preaching Moment: You can have crowds without glory. You can have programs without presence. But where God is honored, His glory returns.

I ASK YOU TODAY.....
In your life:
Are you casual with GOD’S presence?
Is worship a filler or a priority?
Does God get the leftovers of your time?
OR IS HE GETTING THE FIRST FRUITS
Honor isn’t a feeling — it’s positioning your life so He has first place.
(KATELYNN ROCHA TESTIMONY....POSITIONING YOURSELF)

2. The Glory Returns Where the Altar Is Rebuilt

Before glory came to Solomon’s temple, Solomon built an altar.
God has never poured glory on an empty platform — only on a surrendered place.
Romans 12:1 NIV
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Elijah

1 Kings 18 — Before fire fell, “Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down.” (v.30)
Then the fire fell — then the people turned — then the nation shifted.
OH COME ON....I SAID...
FIRST THE ALTAR HAD TO BE BUILT
THEN THE FIRE FELL
THEN THE PEOPLE TURNED
THEN THE NATION SHIFTED
OH MY LORD.....
CHURCH The glory does NOT return to the loudest place — IT RETURNS TO the lowest place.
The altar isn’t where we cry — it SHOULD BE..... where we die.
“PRESENT YOURSELVES A LIVING SACRIFICE”....
THE ALTAR IS THE PLACE WHERE WE DIE TO OURSELVES
IT’S A PLACE WHERE WE LAY DOWN OUR FLESH AND OUR DESIRES
THE ALTAR IS A PLACE OF SACRIFICE BEFORE THE ALMIGHTY GOD
THE WHO DESERVES ALL OF US
I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT A HALF HEARTED SURRENDER
I’M TALKING ABOUT EVERYTHING THING
EVERY RELATIONSHIP
EVERY POSESSION
EVERY DESIRE
I’M TALKING ABOUT COMPLETELY SURRENDERING YOUR WHOLE LIFE TO HIM
THIS IS HOW WE LIFT OUR HEADS
THIS IS HOW WE OPEN THE GATES OF OUR HEARTS FOR THE KING OF GLORY TO COME IN

CAN SOMEBODY GIVE HONOR TO THE KING TODAY?????
What needs to go on your altar today?
Pride?
Bitterness?
Hidden sin?
Convenience Christianity?
God restores glory where we restore sacrifice.

3. The Glory Returns When His People Are Prepared to Carry It

God won’t give glory to people who can’t steward it.
Habakkuk 2:14 NIV
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
God isn’t just returning glory — He’s distributing carriers.

Uzzah vs. Obed-Edom

(TELL STORY AND COMMANDS FOR THE ARK OF THE COVENANT)
THERE WERE STRICT LAWS AND COMMANDS REGARDING THE HANDLING AND MOVING OF THE ARK OF GOD
SOMETHING I THINK IS IMPORTANT IS FOUND IN 2 SAM 6.
WE SEE THAT THE ARK WAS KEPT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME IN THE HOUSE OF ABINADAB
HIS TWO SONS...UZZAH AND AHIO MOST LIKELY BECAME ACCUSTOMED TO IT’S PRESENCE
THERE IS AN OLD SAYING....”FAMILIARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT”
THAT SAYING COULD APPLY IN THIS CASE
UZZAH, HAVING BEEN AROUND THE ARK IN HIS OWN HOME, COULD HAVE LIKELY FOROGT THE HOLINESS THAT IS REPRESENTED
OH MY LORD....I BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE FOR SO MANY
WE SEE THAT NOT ONLY DID THEY BECOME CARELESS AND DISOBEDIENT IN THE WAY THEY MOVED THE ARK OF THE COVENANT
LEVITES WERE THE ONLY ONE SUPPOSED TO CARRY THE ARK AND IT WAS TO BE DONE ON POLES THAT RAN THROUGH RINGS AT THE EACH CORNER AND THE POLES WERE TO REST UPON THE THEIR SHOULDERS
THIS DAY THEY WERE CARRYING IT ON CARTS
WHICH WAS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN
MOMS AND DADS....YOU ARE CALLED TO CARRY THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN YOUR HOMES...
I WONDER HOW MANY OF YOU ARE DROPPING THE PRESENCE OF GOD DUE TO YOUR SELFISH DESIRES AND AMBITIONS
HOW MANY OF YOU ARE FAILING TO PREPARE YOUR CHILDREN TO ONE DAY CARRY THE PRESENCE OF GOD
YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBLITY TO HOST THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN YOUR HOME
HIS GLORY RETURNS WHEN HIS PEOPLE PREPARE TO CARRY IT....
Uzzah touched the ark without reverence — and died.
Obed-Edom hosted it — and everything in his house was blessed.
Same ark. Different house. Different honor.
The glory doesn’t bless everyone who sees it — only those who host it.

I CHALLENGE YOU TO ASK YOURSELF....

Could the Holy Spirit live comfortably in my home?
Am I structured for glory, or only emotional moments?
God is looking for houses, not just services.

4. When the Glory Returns, Everything Changes

This is not cosmetic. This is not emotional. This is not seasonal.
GLORY IS TRANSFORMATIONAL.
......WORSHIP TEAM COME JOIN ME.....
2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV
18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Moses

Moses didn’t attend a service — He encountered glory.
And when he came down OFF THE MOUNTAIN, his face shined.
He didn’t tell Israel what happened —
his face revealed it.
OH COME ON SOMEBODY....
Real glory doesn’t need explanation — it becomes visible.
OH MY LORD......
Real revival:
Changes how you talk
Changes how you walk
Changes what you desire
Changes who you are
Because glory is not an event — it’s an environment.
IT’S AN ENVIRONMENT YOU CREATE
IT’S AN ENVIRONMENT YOU CULTIVATE AND HOST
...........STAND TO YOUR FEET...........

Closing Scripture

Haggai 2:9 NIV
9 ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”
God is not returning the glory of yesterday — He IS releasing the glory of what’s next.
OH COME ON....FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED GOD’S GLORY
HE IS NOT TRYING TO RECREATE THAT SEASON
HE IS NOT TRYING TO DUPLICATE THE GLORY YOU ONCE FELT
HE IS WANTING TO DO SOMETHING NEW INSIDE OF YOU
HE HAS SOMETHING BIGGER AND BETTER IN STORE FOR YOU THAN YOU HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN THE PAST......THINK ABOUT THAT
BECAUSE SOME OF YOU HAVE SOME EXPERIENCES AND SOME SEASONS WHERE REVIVAL CAME AND TRANSFORMED LIVES
HE SAID THE PRESENT GLORY WILL BE GREATER THAN THE FORMER GLORY
THE LATTER WILL BE GREATER THAN THE PAST
OH COME ON SOMEBODY....CAN YOU GIVE HIME A SHOUT OF PRAISE FOR HIS GOODNESS

Altar Call – “Let the Glory Return to This House”

If you want more than fire — if you want GLORY
Come.
If you’re ready to rebuild the altar… Come.
If you refuse to be satisfied with a Christian life God doesn’t inhabit… Come.
Let your cry be:
“Lord, let the glory return — not around me, but IN me.”
