Matthew 9:37 “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;”

Jesus is speaking to his disciples and telling them that the harvest is plenteous, but why would he do that?

Matthew 9:36 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

In Matthew 9:36 it says that he looks upon the multitudes and was moved, why was he moved? he was moved because he seen people that were broken, wandering with no hope, and people with no guidance.

Jesus says there are people out there ready to receive what God can do for their life, but there are not many people willing to go and tell them about him.

My name is Tyler Chandler and I am a church planting missionary to Brazil South America. We are with Vision Baptist Missions and sent out of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Logan Ohio.

I’d like to introduce my family, This is my beautiful wife Brianna we have been married for 8 years. We have 5 wonderful Children Vivian(7), Cyrus(6), Harlow(4), Elais(3), and Jebediah(6mths). God has blessed our family tramendously.

We are planning to be the light in the darkness, we are planning to take the Gospel to Brazil.

Brazil

We had the opportunity to take our survey trip June of 2025, My wife and I went to Salvador Brazil which is on the north east coast of Brazil.

While there we were able to survey several cities in the area, the city we are looking at going to is a population of 2.8 Million people. During that time we looked around and couldn’t find a Gospel preaching church any where.

We also had the opportunity to see a few more smaller towns, We went up into laura de fritas, Camcari, and salmao filho.

Laura de fritas has a missionary there by the name of Westley Palla, he and his family has been there for 10 years. 5 years in sao paulo and 5 years in laura.

Samao filho is a population of 40,000 and there is one Gospel preaching church there.

Camcari is a population of 800,000 people and not a Gospel preaching church there either.

There is a great need in the north east of Brazil, would you pray with us that God would send more labourers to the north east of Brazil?

Plans

We have been on deputation since June 9 2024, (17 months) we are at 63% of our needed support.

Our goal is to be in Brazil by June of 2026 and starting language school, Learning Portuguese.

During our time in Brazil, we found two really nice language schools in the south end of Salvador.

Learning experiences

My family and I moved to Georgia in Feb. 2021 and started attending The Vision School of Missions. One of the stipulations to graduate from here is to do an overseas internship on a forgen field.

My family and I served in Toluca Mexico with a veteran missionary, during that time we were in Language school for 20 hours a week. 4 hours a day for 5 days a week.

Though I knew I wouldn’t be fluent in the language, I begged the lord to allow me to learn how to share the Gospel.

Though we may think its important to learn how to order a taco or ask where the Bathroom is. I believe it is important to share the Gospel to those that need it.

That is exactly what God did, we returned from Mexico in Feb. 2023. I went back to work but also served in our home church.

I was blessed to be the song leader at our home church in Logan ohio.

One sunday morning just after the song service started we had a family come in, I was really excited to see them. Not because they were visitors but because I knew who the Gentleman was, because I grew up with him.

after service that day i went up to him and gave him a big hug and asked him how he was doing and what not, but in that moment I looked at his wife and said “Good morning”.

She gave me the “deer in the headlights look” and I immediately said I am so sorry did I say something to offend you. If I did I really didn’t mean to.

He looks at me and said no no she is from Veracruz Mexico and doesn’t speak very good english.

So I said “oh well I know just enough spanish to get myself in trouble” I looked at her and said Buenos Dias Como Estas?

Her face lit up cause someone could finally speak to her with out using a phone.

As a few weeks went by, Praise the Lord he got saved but she wasn’t understanding a single thing. My heart broke, so right after service one sunday morning I went over and sat down next to her and her husband and ask her if she died today if she would go to heaven or hell?

She said heaven and I asked her why she believed that, she said because she does good things, she prays, and she goes to church. I said can I show you something in the Bible that goes against what you just said.

Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Can I show you in the bible how you can know Jesus as your personal lord and savior and know 100% that you’ll go to heaven when you die.

I took her to Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”

In spanish it says “Como estas escrito no hay justo ni aun uno”

I was able to lead her to the Lord that sunday and then the next sunday I was able to Baptize her. If I didn’t put the effort forward when I was in Mexico for the short time who knows where her eternity would be but praise God its in heaven with Jesus.
