Immaturity is Impatient
Immaturity is Impatient
31 Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Last week we spoke about how dark the world was before the first coming of the Lord, I wanted you all to know how hopeless the situation was, because we get this idea that everyone has had it as good as we have. They didn’t live on this side of the first Christmas.
They also had to do some things that this generation hates, they waited. I’ve noticed that this generation has been labeled as the microwave generation, the generation that can’t stand to wait, we get instant gratification. And it’s the generation that brought us up that talks this way, and this generation is guilty of making themselves the generation that will see the Lord’s return, because we’ve waited so long.
In Isaiah 40:3 “3 A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.”
we see that famous verse that is quoted from John, the idea of the chapter is all about the hope that Israel has coming from it, that the Lord is doing the very thing that He promised He was going to do!
So many unbelievers out there are angry with God that they don’t believe in. Also they fixate on the timing in which the Gospels are written, telling people that if God is really loving He wouldn’t have waited until He did to come, I’ve even been asked by some believers as to why we think that He waited, and I believe that I have an answer.
………
If being impatient is a sign of immaturity a sign of maturity has to be the opposite.
Patience is maturity
Patience is maturity
When you learn to wait on the Lord you know how to draw strength from the sovereignty of God. We trust the Lord, we know the He’s making everything happen in His timing. And to those that are working within His timing.
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Wait = Trust
Wait = Trust
In Some ways waiting in trust
Trust = Faith
Trust = Faith
Faith is the best explanation for what it means
Faith ≠ Inaction
Faith ≠ Inaction
The action of waiting can also mean serving, in this there is the idea that waiting means that you just sit back and do nothing, well you can serve in the mean time.
conclusion:
When Jesus wraps enters the world to take on the sins of the world and overcome the grave, let’s look at what the world was like, remember these people are not just stories that are made up these are real people.
For the first time in the world when Jesus walked around men, there was a single world language there was a network of roads that allows for global travel of the Gospel. That the entire known world could be reached by simple fisherman with the best news in the world.
