The Joy That Leaps
The Arrival is a five-part Advent and Christmas Eve series exploring sacred themes of hope, preparation, joy, love, and worship. Each week unveils a promise in the darkness, a voice in the wilderness, joy that leaps, love arriving, and glory in the manger—guiding us toward the light of Christ’s coming. Week 3 of The Arrival series, titled “The Joy That Leaps,” celebrates the theme “Joy in the Unexpected.” As Mary visits Elizabeth, the child in Elizabeth’s womb leaps for joy (Luke 1:39–45), reminding us that divine joy often erupts in hidden places. This week invites us to recognize joy not as fleeting emotion, but as a deep, Spirit-stirred response to God’s presence—even in uncertainty. Advent joy is not loud or performative; it’s quiet, contagious, and rooted in promise. We are called to rejoice, not because everything is perfect, but because God is near and His arrival transforms even the ordinary.
