Game

So this leader pulled up on the boss and said, "Let my squad go," but the boss was cap. So the Big Guy upstairs sent ten plagues that were absolute Ohio energy. Finally, the squad left, but they hit a dead end at the ocean. The leader raised his staff, the water parted (glitch in the matrix), and they walked through on dry land. The boss's army tried to follow but got washed.
Moses Parts the Red Sea
This giant was acting like the main character, trolling the whole army. He had massive aura. Everyone was scared to fight him except this one shepherd boy who was a short king. The boy refused the armor because it was mid. He pulled up with just a sling and five smooth stones. One 360-no-scope headshot later, the giant got ratioed.
David and Goliath
A massive crowd was following the Teacher, and they were all hangry. The squad was stressing, saying, "We have zero budget." One kid offered up his lunchable—five loaves and two fish. The Teacher looked at the food, blessed it, and it duplicated. He literally cooked. Everyone ate until they were stuffed, and there were 12 baskets of leftovers.
Feeding the 5000
The Big Guy saw the world had zero rizz and everyone was acting sus. He told this builder to make a massive wooden yacht because a flood was coming. The guy spent 100 years building it while everyone roasted him. Animals pulled up in duos. It rained for 40 days, no cap. Finally, a bird brought the receipts that the water was gone.
Noah’s Ark
This guy was the ultimate gym bro, absolute unit. His secret power was his long hair—he was basically a sigma. But he started dating a girl who was toxic. She nagged him until he spilled the tea about his strength. She gave him a buzz cut while he was sleeping. He woke up with negative aura and lost all his gains instantly.
Samson and Delilah
The first two humans were living their best life in a perfect spot. Literally everything was free; no Fanum tax. The Big Guy said, "Eat whatever, just don't touch that one tree." But a reptile started yapping and gaslighting them. They ate the forbidden fruit and immediately lost their streak. They tried to hide, but you can’t ghost the Creator.
Adam and Eve
The Big Guy told this messenger to go to a specific city, but he said "Bet" and then went the opposite way. He tried to ghost his boss on a cruise ship. A storm hit, and the crew yeeted him overboard to save the ship. A massive sea creature swallowed him whole. He sat in the stomach for three days thinking about his life choices before getting spat out on the beach.
Jonah
Three guys refused to bow down to a golden statue because they weren't simps for the ruler. The ruler got salty and threw them into a furnace turned up to max heat. But when he looked in, he saw four people vibing in the fire, unbothered. They walked out, and they didn't even smell like smoke. The ruler realized their God was the GOAT.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
The Main Character was betrayed by one of his own homies for 30 pieces of silver. He was arrested and sentenced to death even though He did nothing wrong. He died and they put Him in a cave with a massive rock in front. The guards thought it was game over. But three days later, the stone rolled away. He respawned. He defeated death, left no crumbs.
The Resurrection
This guy was the teacher’s pet with the Big Guy, and the other officials were jealous haters. They made a law that you couldn't pray, but he did it anyway because he was built different. The King threw him in a pit with big cats who were looking for a snack. But the cats didn't eat; their mouths were shut. He survived the night 100% unharmed.
Daniel in the Lions' Den
A couple had to travel for the census, but every hotel was fully booked—zero vacancies on Airbnb. They had to stay in a barn. The mom gave birth and put the baby in a feeding trough (kinda cringe, but it worked). Angels appeared to some shepherds shouting, "New Main Character just dropped." A star led some wise guys to the location.
The Nativity

Intro

Students it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Man I love the Christmas season!
It’s far and away my favorite
I love gift giving, I love getting together with family(most of the time), and I love to keep the focus on Jesus
Jesus is the reason we have Christmas
Today I want to look at one thing that Jesus coming to earth does for us:

We can have peace

Because of Jesus we have peace
When Jesus came into the world he came and provides peace
Listen to one of His names:
Isaiah 9:6 ESV
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jesus Himself is called “Prince of Peace”
He is the one that brings peace and provides peace
He sustains peace and upholds peace
There is no peace without Jesus
The reason we celebrate Christmas is because Jesus comes to bring peace
But the reality is — I am betting a lot of us don’t know what the peace is that Jesus came to bring
We don’t know the complexities of the peace that is offered and provided
So today I want us to examine the peace that Jesus comes to bring — the peace that He is offering

What is peace

The Hebrew word used here for peace is the word שָׁלוֹם (Shalom)
The word שָׁלוֹם (Shalom) is translated as peace, peaceful, welfare, safety
It can also mean completeness
So when Jesus in Isaiah is prophesied to come we see that he is coming to provide peace, welfare, safety, and completeness to His people and the world
So how do we experience Jesus’ peace today?
What does it effect?

Peace within ourselves

The first way we experience the peace of Jesus is:
Peace within ourselves
Jesus as the prince of peace offers peace that is within ourselves
Listen to what Paul tells us:
Philippians 4:6–7 ESV
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Paul tells us that in everything that we face we can go to God through prayer and he provides us peace
We shouldn’t be anxious about anything because with Jesus we can go to God in prayer and experience peace
According to multiple different studies performed prayer actually has health benefits
Reduced stress and anxiety, improved mental and emotional well-being, and potential positive effects on physical health
Think about that — Jesus as Prince of Peace came into the world and allowed us to connect with and communion with God personally
And that personal connection allows us to have less stress and anxiety, improved metal and emotional well-being
All when we just call on the name of Jesus
Jesus even backs this up:
Matthew 11:28–30 ESV
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus is reminding us and telling us that if we go to Him, He will give us rest
Peace and security in ourself
Man I can think of so many instances in my life where this is true
Where I feel overwhelmed, like I cannot handle it
Where my emotions are running rampant
Where I feel lost or hopeless
Anxiety is something I have just recently started experiencing — it’s terrible it makes me feel even more sympathy for those who have genuine anxiety
And yet what I have found is that when I run to God He will experience peace
That’s because He is the author of peace
The Prince of Peace
And when we go to Him He gives us peace within ourselves

Peace with Others

The second way we see the peace of Jesus is:
Peace with Others
Because of Jesus we are expected to have peace with others
Colossians 3:15 ESV
15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
We are to let the reality of who Christ is rule in our lives
The peace that Jesus showed is meant to be the same peace that we are extending to others
Listen to how Jesus puts it:
Luke 6:27–28 ESV
27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Luke 6:35 ESV
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
We are called to love and live in peace with others
This peace though is only possible because of Jesus Himself
Our human nature is to go against things that go against us
We are people that love to root against and attack things that we disagree with
For example:
Lebron is the GOAT
Taylor Swift is bad a musician
I just made an enemy out of most of you — or you have made an enemy with someone beside you
Why? Because we want to attack things and go against things that we disagree with
YET
Because of Jesus we are called and expected to love others, to serve others, to have peace with others

Peace with God

The final way we experience the peace of Jesus is
Peace with God
Jesus coming to earth as the Prince of Peace starts with Him providing us peace with God
We can now have peace with God because of Jesus
Romans 5:1–2 ESV
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Paul tells us that we have peace with God because of Jesus
We were once enemies in the face of God
In Romans we see that
Romans 3:23 ESV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory
We are far from God and cannot reach Him
Our sin pulls us away from God
Quite literally because of our sin there is no hope
Romans 6:23 ESV
23 For the wages of sin is death,
The wages/penalty/earning for sin is death
Death here is separation from God
Death is totally apart from God
Our sin stops us from being with God
Ephesians 2:1–3 ESV
1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Paul tells us in Ephesians that we were dead in our trespasses and sins
We were sons and daughters of disobedience only ever going against God
There was nothing we could do
But we have peace with God because of Jesus
Paul finishes up this idea by saying
Ephesians 2:4–6 ESV
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
But God being rich in mercy sent Jesus
Because Jesus came and died on the cross we can now have life
Because Jesus took our place we are no longer enemies, but sons and daughters
We are no longer lost we are found
We are no longer fearful, we have peace with God
We have peace with God because of Jesus

Conclusion

Students this Christmas season is going to get hectic
I know it
There is going to be so many things trying to pull your attention away from Jesus
So many things trying to get you distracted and make you lose your peace
Stay focused on Jesus who is the Prince of Peace
Stay focused on the one who:
Provides peace within us
Provides peace with others
Provides peace with God
Without Jesus there is no hope, no saving, no peace
But we have the Prince of Peace!
