Luke 1:32–33 “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end.””

How will Jesus rule in righteousness compared to other kings?
Two realities of the righteous rule of King Jesus

1. The Leaders of King Jesus Will Rule Justly (V. 1B-4)

Faith: The leaders of Christ will rule under his righteousness

V. 1B: King Jesus guides his people from His throne in heaven

Hope: Jesus will justly provide

V. 2: Protection, provision, refuge from storms
Jesus will justly provide for you in a world filled with false hopes
Jesus will provide protection / provision / refuge
Storms / challenges / afflictions / will come & go
But Jesus forever reigns

Love: Jesus will transform his people with his righteousness

V. 3-4: 4 Transformations

Christological Aim
Jesus is far above every ruler
Ephesians 1:20–21 “He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.”
Colossians 1:13 “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”
Isaiah 6:9–10 “And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive. Make the minds of these people dull; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.”
Only Jesus can bring transformation to / perceive / Receive / understand / communicate / God’s righteousness
Jesus is already the righteous king not fully realized yet
