I. Who were we? [11-12]
I. Who were we? [11-12]
People with no peace
People with no belonging
People with no access to God
People with no purpose
In essence: We were a people alienated from God’s people and from God’s presence.
II. Who are we? [13-18]

People with peace
People with an inheritance
People with access to God
People with purpose
In essence: We are now a people reconciled to God and redeemed— brought near to God by the blood of Jesus, made one with one another through our bond of faith, and created new to be part of a family living on purpose for God.
III. What does this mean? [19-22]
III. What does this mean? [19-22]
We are to live together as fellow citizens of God’s Kingdom, His household.
We are to embody and display God’s presence and glory.
We are to proclaim the peace of Christ to the world.
In essence: We live as faithful citizens of God’s Kingdom, we grow as connected stones in one temple, being built together by the Spirit of God, and we serve as united ambassadors of one message, proclaiming peace to all through the Gospel.
