Key Verse: Isaiah 1:18–20 (NIV)

1. INTRODUCTION (Emotional, Relatable, Serious Tone)

Church, as we come to 2026, you hear people shouting, “Happy New Year! New blessings! New opportunities/ HUZUK!”
But heaven is not asking about your celebrations. Heaven is asking about your condition. While earth is preparing for firecrackers, heaven is preparing for soul-checking.
The Lord asked me clearly: “Before My people step into the new year, tell them to check their altars/bedi.”
Your altar is not this pulpit, not the communion table, not the church stage.
Your altar is the private place inside you where God used to meet you, speak to you, convict/ontor-biddho kora you, and shape you.
Some of you are crossing into a new year but carrying an old secret, an old wound, an old compromise/somzota, an old disobedience.
We want God to bless our year, but God is asking: “Will you let Me clean the altar first?”
Listen carefully — A new calendar does not create a new you. It only reveals the truth you are carrying inside.
Transition: So this 2026, the Spirit of the Lord wants to deal with three altars in our life.

2. MAIN POINT 1: “GOD IS CALLING US TO RETURN TO A CLEAN ALTAR.”

Exposition

Isaiah 1 is not written to unbelievers. It is written to believers. People who sing, pray, attend worship, give offerings — yet God said,
“Your hands are full of blood… Isa 1:15 Your worship is noisy to Me… Amos 5:23 Your heart is far from Me.” Isa29:13
God was not angry with their song. He was grieved by their heart condition.

Reflection

Many of us today know how to worship, but not how to walk straight.
We know how to lift hands, but not how to lift our life.
We know how to pray publicly, but not how to repent privately.
Our altar looks clean to people, but dusty before God.
Your altar cannot be cleansed with emotion.
Your altar can only be cleansed with obedience.

Scripture

Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a clean heart.”
Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart.”
Isaiah 1:18–20 - “ Obedient will eat it’s fruit”

Illustration

A lamp has oil. A lamp has fire. But if the glass is covered with soot, the light becomes dim.
Many believers are like that lamp — The oil is there. The calling is there. The anointing is there. But the soot of secret sin, bitterness, laziness, and compromise has covered the glass.
Clean the glass, and the lamp will shine again.

Smooth Transition

If God is calling us to clean the altar, the next step is deeper — God is confronting the divided heart.

3. MAIN POINT 2: “GOD WILL NOT ALLOW A DIVIDED HEART IN 2026.”

Exposition

God warned Israel: “If you obey, you will eat the best… If you rebel, destruction will follow.”
God’s patience is long, but it is not infinite. He tolerates weakness, but He confronts double life.

Reflection

Some believers have two versions: – The church version – The secret version
One version sings/PRASANSA and one version sins./PAAP
One version prays/PRATHANA and one version plays with temptation./PROLOBON
2025 was the year of warnings. 2026 will be the year of exposure. Whatever you hide, the year will reveal.
This is not to scare you.
This is God’s mercy saying:
“Bring it to Me before the year brings it to light.”

Scripture

Luke 12:2 – Nothing hidden will stay hidden.
James 1:8 – A double-minded man is unstable.
Revelation 3:16 – Lukewarm will be spit out.

Illustration

A boat survives in water until water enters the boat.
The world around you will not destroy you. The world inside you will.
We don’t fall because of the environment. We fall because we allow the environment inside us.

Smooth Transition

If God is cleansing the altar and confronting the divided heart, there is a third call — God is raising a holy, separated remnant/DOL.

4. MAIN POINT 3: “GOD IS FORMING A REMNANT/DOL WHO WILL WALK IN HOLINESS.”

Exposition

When the majority/besi bhag becomes cold, God chooses the minority/kom bhag that burns.
Throughout Scripture, the remnant/Dol is not many — they are few, but they are faithful.

Reflection

2026 will be a year of shaking. But shakings do not destroy the holy. Shakings refine them. Shakings clarify them. Shakings deepen them.
Some believers will collapse. But the remnant/Dol — those who choose holiness — will stand strong like Mount Zion.
God is not looking for a big crowd. God is looking for a clean crowd.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 6:17 – Come out and be separate.
1 Peter 1:16 – Be holy for I am holy.
Romans 12:1 – Present your bodies as a living sacrifice.

Illustration

A goldsmith heats gold to remove the impurities. The fire is not punishment. It is purification/shudikoran.
In the same way, 2026 will carry fire — but for the holy, it will make them shine brighter.

mooth Transition

So now the question is: What must we do in the new year?

5. APPLICATION (Direct, Practical, Heart-Piercing)

Before entering 2026, ask yourself:
Is my altar broken or alive?
What sin am I still protecting?
What habit is killing my spiritual authority?
What relationship is polluting my holiness?
Am I obeying fully or partially?
If God looked at my private life, would He smile or sigh?
Don’t enter 2026 with the same compromise of 2025. Don’t cross the year with unconfessed sin. Don’t carry a dirty altar into a holy season.

6. CONCLUSION (Strong, Prophetic, Emotional)

Before you take one step into 2026, heaven is giving you a choice:
Obedience brings blessing. Rebellion brings breaking.
Do not wait for 2026 to change you. Let God change you Today.
This new year is not promising safety for everyone, but it promises covering, strength, and victory for those who walk in obedience and holiness.
Clean your altar. Return to the fear of the Lord. Let 2026 find you ready, steady, and surrendered.
May the Lord bless your steps, purify your heart, and protect your year. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
