It was on the cross that darkness was defeated and light won forever
Matthew 27:45 “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.”
Mark 15:33 “And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.”
Luke 23:44–45 “It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.”
Option 2: plague of darkness and then fast forward to darkness on the earth while just hung on the cross. Judgment of darkness in plague as type of the judgment that was issued on the earth when Jesus hung on the cross. Maybe even then tie that to picture of judgment of hell from as darkness (Matt 8:12, 22:13, 25:30).
Colossians 1:13 “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,”
“I believe you’re right, Picket,” he said, smiling through fresh tears. “I have only one desire in these painful days, to see my work matter for the mending. I know I help invent things that destroy, but they are aimed at the darkness. And I hope that, when they have blown a hole in that darkness, the light pours in.” - Emerson in Ember Rising
