Anticipation is not passive it is active faith, obedience, hope, and devotion. Just as children eagerly await Christmas morning, Israel longed for the Messiah’s coming. Mary trusted God’s Word with humility, showing that anticipation transforms waiting into worship. Joseph obeyed despite social cost, reminding us that obedience often means standing against cultural currents. Simeon’s lifelong hope teaches us that God’s timing is perfect, even if delayed. Anna’s decades of prayer and devotion call us back to worship in an age of distraction. Together, their examples reveal anticipation fulfilled in Christ’s first coming and point us toward His second. This season, we are called to live in anticipation trusting like Mary, obeying like Joseph, hoping like Simeon, and devoting like Anna actively shaping our hearts toward the blessed hope of Jesus Christ.
