Tonight I am not preaching a soft gospel. I am not preaching the easy path. I am not preaching emotional excitement without true repentance. I am preaching the call of Jesus, a call that reaches every tribe, every village, every city, and every generation. It is the call that separates the crowd from the committed. It is the call that leads to real life.
Jesus said that if anyone wants to follow Him, they must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. This is not a suggestion. This is not a comfortable option. This is the doorway to life.
Ghana, hear me with love. You cannot hold on to Jesus and hold on to your old life at the same time. One must die so the other can live.
Tonight is a night of decision.
POINT ONE. HALF CHRISTIANITY HAS NO POWER
In many places people love the idea of Jesus but not the authority of Jesus. They love the blessings of God but not the surrender God calls for. They want salvation but not obedience. They want the miracles but not the Lordship.
Half Christianity produces weak believers, unstable homes, and powerless churches. It leaves people exposed to temptation and spiritual bondage. It builds crowds but not disciples.
Joshua stood before Israel and said choose today whom you will serve. Not tomorrow. Not when you feel ready. Not when life gets easier. Today.
Some here have been near the church but far from Christ. You sing the songs but your heart is still divided. You pray the words but you still cherish your old ways. You know Scripture but you have not surrendered your life.
Tonight God is calling you out of half Christianity into the fire of full devotion.
POINT TWO. THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP IS REAL
Jesus never hid the cost. He said take up your cross. He said lose your life for His sake. He said deny yourself. He said count the cost.
In Ghanaian culture people understand seriousness. You know that a covenant means something. You know that loyalty has weight. You know that honor matters. This is why the call of Jesus connects so deeply when it is preached with truth.
Following Jesus means your old life must die. The life of pride dies. The life of lust dies. The life of witchcraft dies. The life of lies dies. The life of self rule dies. The life of unforgiveness dies.
Romans 6 says the old self was crucified with Christ so that the body of sin would be powerless. The gospel does not decorate your old life. It destroys the old life so that a new one can rise.
The cost is high, but the reward is greater.
POINT THREE. SURRENDER OPENS THE DOOR TO TRUE LIFE
Jesus said that if you try to save your own life, you will lose it. But if you lose your life for His sake, you will find true life.
Galatians 2:20 says I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That is not poetry. That is the miracle of salvation. A new life takes over. A new love fills your heart. A new strength rises inside you. A new power to resist sin. A new purpose for every day.
This is why so many who choose full surrender walk in freedom that religion could never give them. When Christ lives in you, you become a different person. The things that used to control you lose their grip. The habits that once enslaved you no longer own you. The shame that once followed you is washed away.
When you surrender, you do not lose your life. You finally receive it.
POINT FOUR. TONIGHT YOU MUST CHOOSE
Joshua said choose today whom you will serve. Not your parents. Not your village. Not your culture. You.
God has brought you here for a decision. Not a feeling. Not a moment. A decision that marks your life and shapes your future.
Some of you are standing between two worlds. One world is familiar but empty. The other world is costly but filled with glory. Tonight you cannot keep one foot in each. You must choose.
Lift your eyes to Jesus. He is calling you to life. He is calling you to freedom. He is calling you to holiness. He is calling you to purpose. He is calling you home.
ALTAR CALL AND PRAYER OF SURRENDER
If you are ready to leave your old life behind and follow Jesus fully, lift your hand. Lift it high. Let heaven see it. Let the enemy see it. Let your own heart see it.
Pray with me.
Jesus, I choose You. I turn from my old life. I lay down every sin and every idol. I surrender completely to Your rule. I want Your life in me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lead me in holiness. I belong to You.
Amen.
PRAYER FOR FREEDOM AND SPIRIT EMPOWERMENT
Now Father, seal every decision in this place. Break every remaining chain. Destroy every grip of the enemy. Silence every lie. Release the power of the Holy Spirit into every surrendered heart. Let boldness rise. Let purity rise. Let joy rise. Let obedience rise.
Let an army of disciples stand up from this field. Not fans. Not spectators. True followers of Jesus.
Choose Jesus and live.
