Text: Mark 1:14-15, Luke 4:18-19, Psalm 34:18, Revelation 3:20
Tonight I have come with good news. The King of glory is not far from you. He is not watching you from a distance. He is not waiting for you to climb your way up to Him. The King has stepped into your world. The King has drawn near.
From the villages to the cities, from the student to the mother, from the business owner to the one who feels forgotten, the King has come close.
Ghana, your God is present. He is not silent. He is not powerless. He is not distant. When Jesus began His ministry, His first words were simple. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the gospel.
The King is standing at your door tonight. He comes with mercy. He comes with healing. He comes with purpose for your life.
POINT ONE. THE KING DOES NOT WAIT FOR YOU TO REACH HIM
Mark 1 tells us Jesus came announcing the kingdom. He did not tell people to climb into heaven. He brought heaven down to them.
Religion says you must climb the ladder. The gospel says the King comes down the ladder to meet you.
Many here have tried to reach God by working harder, praying longer, or trying to earn His pleasure. You have tried to change yourself before coming to Him. You have tried to get perfect before opening your heart.
But Jesus says something completely different. He says come. Come with your weakness. Come with your wounds. Come with your fear. Come with your brokenness.
You cannot reach God by your strength, but He reaches you by His love.
POINT TWO. WHEN THE KING DRAWS NEAR, EVERYTHING CHANGES
In Luke 4 Jesus stood in the synagogue and read from Isaiah. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to set captives free, to open blind eyes, and to announce the year of the Lord’s favor.
When the King comes close, chains fall. Hope rises. Blind eyes open. Shame lifts. Fear breaks. Demons flee. Families are restored. Bodies are healed. Dignity is restored.
This is why Africa responds so deeply to the gospel. You know that the spiritual world is real. You know that battles are real. You know that darkness is real. But tonight you are going to know that Jesus is greater.
Some came here with sorrow so heavy they could not carry it another day. Psalm 34 says the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. If your heart is breaking, the King is sitting beside you right now.
Some came here with sickness in your body. The King still heals. Not through magic. Not through manipulation. Not for money. He heals because it is His nature to restore.
Some came here full of guilt. Revelation 3 says He stands at the door and knocks. He is not running away from you. He is trying to get in.
POINT THREE. THE KING CALLS YOU TO SURRENDER
The presence of the King demands a response. You cannot stay the same. You cannot hold on to the throne of your own life and expect to walk in freedom. The gospel calls for surrender.
When a king arrives, the people bow. Not out of fear, but out of honor. And when we bow our lives to Jesus, our hearts are healed. Our futures are restored. Our minds find peace.
Surrender is not losing your life. It is finding true life. It is handing over the lies you believed. It is laying down anger, sin, pride, and the empty promises of this world.
Some in this field know Jesus has come close, but you have kept Him at the door. You let Him visit, but you never let Him rule. Tonight the King is not asking for a visit. He is asking for a throne.
POINT FOUR. THE KING IS READY TO MOVE AMONG HIS PEOPLE
I feel the presence of the Lord in this place. I sense the Spirit drawing many hearts right now. Do not resist Him. Do not harden your heart. If the King is knocking, open the door.
Lift your hands to heaven as a sign of surrender. Say, Jesus, I welcome You. Jesus, I need You. Jesus, come close to me.
Let us pray together.
Jesus, the King of glory, I open my heart to You. I turn from my old life and I surrender to Your rule. Heal my mind. Heal my heart. Heal my body. Break every chain and fill me with Your Spirit. I belong to You now.
Amen.
PRAYER FOR HEALING AND RESTORATION
Now Lord, stretch out Your hand across this field. Let the blind see. Let the oppressed go free. Let every evil spirit leave in the name of Jesus. Let sickness dissolve. Let shame lift. Restore marriages. Restore children. Restore families. Restore identity. Restore hope.
The King has come close. The King is moving. The King is healing. The King is saving. Walk in the power of His presence.
