Part 2 - THE CHILD

THE PROMISE NOW HAS A FACE

Last week we learned something critical:

Christmas did not begin in Bethlehem —

it began in Eden.

WE LEARNED THAT....

A promise was spoken. A war was declared. A Seed was protected.

But today we arrive at the most astonishing truth of all:

John 1:1–2 NIV

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:14 NIV

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

OH COME ON SOMEBODY....

👉 The Promise didn’t stay a prophecy. 👉 The Promise took on flesh.

God didn’t LOOK DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND SHOUT....REDEMPTION....FROM HEAVEN—

NO......

He stepped into the world

HE DWELT AMONG US....IN ORDER to accomplish REDEMPTION.

Christianity does not rest on an idea.

It rests on a Child.

📖 LUKE 2:1–7

Luke 2:1–7 NIV

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

OH MY LORD....THANK YOU

Rome thought it was counting people.

But heaven was positioning prophecy.

A census WAS TAKEN PLACE AND IT looked political —

but WHAT THEY DIDN’T KNOW WAS....

it was prophetic.

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....

God used an empire to move a carpenter into position....SO THAT

a promise could land exactly where Scripture said it would.

WOW....ISN’T GOD AWESOME....

HE DID THIS FOR YOU AND ME

FOR US.....THINK ABOUT THAT

GOD IS SOVERIGN....AND HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE NEEDS TO DO TO MAKE IT HAPPEN

DON’T YOU THINK FOR A SECOND THAT JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE...

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE

BECAUSE MATTHEW 19:26 SAYS

Matthew 19:26 NIV

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

God doesn’t need permission from power — He uses power to fulfill His Word.

OH COME ON SOMEBODY....

IF YOU BELIEVE HE CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE

CAN YOU SHOUT....THANK YOU

I WANT TO GIVE YOU SOME REVELATION ABOUT THE CHILD...

I BELIEVE THIS IS GOING TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE PROMISE

YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS....

1. THE CHILD IS GOD’S FINAL ANSWER TO SIN

God didn’t send angels to fix sin.

He didn’t send laws to cure IT.

He didn’t send judgment to end it.

He sent a Child.

AS WE READ EARLIER....

📖 JOHN 1:14

John 1:14 NIV

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Word didn’t shout from heaven —

He moved into the neighborhood.

The Greek phrase HERE FOR THIS PASSAGE means:

“He tabernacled among us.”

The same glory that once lived in tents and temples now lived in skin and bones.

WOW.....THINK ABOUT THAT....

God didn’t come JUST to visit humanity —

He came to identify with humanity.

He cried.

He grew.

He learned.

He felt pain.

WHY????

Because redemption required proximity.

2. THE CHILD WAS SMALL BY DESIGN

THINK ABOUT THIS.....

God could have come as a warrior.

He could have come as a king.

He could have come with thunder.

BUT Instead —

He came small.

📖 ISAIAH 9:6

Isaiah 9:6 NIV

6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

A child is born — THAT’S humanity. A son is given?

NOT OUR SON....BUT

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY.....SON

THAT’S divinity.

YOU WILL HEAR OTHER CHURCHES AND RELIGIONS TEACH THIS DIFFERENTLY

BUT I AM HEAR TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE....

Jesus is fully God and fully man without compromise.

What hell feared most.....

DID NOT arrive loudly —

it arrived humbly.

I GET ANNOYED WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE TALK ABOUT BABY JESUS AS IF HE IS SOMETHING LESS

BE MINDFUL OF THIS WHEN YOU SEE JESUS IN THE MANGER.....

HE IS NOT CUTE

HE IS THE SON OF GOD

THE KING OF KINGS

THE LORD OF LORDS

YOUR ONLY RESPONSE TO HIM SHOULD BE TO BOW BEFORE HIM

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....

The manger wasn’t weakness —

it was strategy.

IT WAS THE POWER OF GOD AND HIS SOVREIGNTY AT WORK

THINK ABOUT IT......

Satan IS LOOKING for power —

SO....WHAT DOES GOD DO???

HE HIDES THE POWER IN OBEDIENCE

HE HIDES IT IN HUMILITY

OH MY LORD....THATS GOOD

3. THE CHILD FULFILLS EVERY PROMISE GOD EVER MADE

Every prophecy finds its “YES” in Jesus Christ

📖 2 CORINTHIANS 1:20

2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

JUST IN CASE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY WE SAY “AMEN”.

THERE YOU GO.....LOL

Jesus didn’t fulfill “SOME OF THE” prophecies. He fulfilled “ALL” of them.

HE WAS....

Born of a virgin ✔

Born in Bethlehem ✔

BORN From David’s line ✔

HE IS Light to the nations ✔

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS????

God didn’t miss a detail.

God didn’t rush the process.

God didn’t fail the promise.

HE IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD

TO HIS PROMISES

HIS PROMISES ARE “YES” AND “AMEN”

HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER.......

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....

If God was faithful across 4,000 years, He will be faithful in your lifetime.

WILL SOMEBODY GIVE HIM A SHOUT OF PRAISE...

📖 MATTHEW 1:21

Matthew 1:21 NIV

21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

YOU WANNA KNOW WHY THE NAME JESUS MATTERS

Jesus (Yeshua) means: 👉 “The Lord saves.”

OH MY LORD....HELP US....

Jesus didn’t come to inspire people —

He came to rescue them.

Not from Rome.

Not from hardship.

HE CAME TO RESCUE THEM from sin.

Jesus didn’t come to make bad people better —

He came to make dead people alive.

OH COME ON.....

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO THANK THE LORD....

BECAUSE HE RESTORES....

HE RAISES THE SPIRITUAL DEAD

AND THE PHYSICAL DEAD

MY GOD IS SO BIG AND SO STRONG AND SO MIGHTY....

THERE IS NOTHING MY GOD CAN NOT DO.....

LORD HELP US.....

4. THE CHILD IS THE COLLISION OF HEAVEN AND EARTH

📖 LUKE 2:10–11

Luke 2:10–11 NIV

10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

THREE TITLES...... ONE CHILD.....

Savior — He rescues

Messiah — He fulfills prophecy

Lord — He reigns

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....

The manger is not sentimental — it is sovereign.

He came to save.

He came to rule.

He came to reign.

YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS MORNING THAT....

Christmas isn’t the end of the story —

it’s the beginning of salvation.

YOU EVER WONDER....WHY SHEPHERDS HEARD FIRST?

I MEAN.....Shepherds were considered unreliable witnesses.

THEY WERE CONSIDERED TO BE Unclean.

Outcasts.

OH MY LORD....

I LOVE THAT heaven announces the birth of Jesus to the overlooked.

OH COME ON SOMEBODY.....

God does NOT reveal Himself to the powerful first

He reveals Himself to THOSE WHO ARE available.

......STAND TO YOUR FEET..........

HE IS REVEALED TO THOSE WHO ARE WILLING AND AVAILABLE TO RECIEVE THE CHILD (JESUS) AS SAVIOR

🔥 ALTAR CALL — “RECEIVE THE CHILD”

The Promise has arrived. The Child has come.

But a gift only transforms when it is received.

This Christmas, God isn’t asking you to admire Jesus —

He’s asking you to receive Him.

If you need salvation — come. If you need forgiveness — come. If you need hope — come.

THESE ALTARS ARE OPEN....WOULD YOU COME AND RECEIVE HIM TODAY?

SALVATION PRAYER.......

DEAR JESUS WOULD YOU FORGIVE ME OF MY SINS?

WOULD YOU TRANSFORM MY HEART AND MY MIND TO HAVE FAITH AND TRUST YOU...

WOULD YOU HELP ME OVERCOME THE TEMPTATIONS OF THE ENEMY IN MY LIFE

HELP ME TO GROW IN YOU!

JESUS I BELIEVE THAT YOU DIED FOR MY SINS AND ROSE ON THE THIRD DAY....

“Jesus, I receive You. Not as a tradition — but as my Savior. Not as a story — but as my Lord. Let the Promise live in me.”

IN YOUR NAME I PRAY....AMEN

CLOSING DECLARATION

The Promise was spoken. The Seed was protected. The Child has come.

And because Jesus lives —

👉 Hope is alive 👉 Salvation is available 👉 The war is already won
