todays commandment is the 9th commandment which says, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor”.

what does it mean to bear false witness? but before that lets look at what it means to be a witness in the first place.

Discussion Point 1 — What Does It Mean to Be a Witness?

Key idea: A witness tells the truth about reality before God and others.

Questions:

What does it mean to be a “witness” in everyday life, not just a courtroom?

How do our words become testimonies about what we believe?

Why does God take truthful witness so seriously?

Discussion Point 2 — The Tongue as the Main Instrument of Bearing Witness

Key idea: The ninth commandment is broken or kept through the tongue.

Questions:

How have you seen words bring life or death (Prov 18:21)?

Why does the Bible speak so much about the tongue, especially in Proverbs?

What makes speech so spiritually powerful?

Discussion Point 3 — Truth in the Inward Parts(you start by being a truthful witness against yourself)

Key idea: God desires inward truth, not just outward truth.

Questions:

What does Psalm 51:6 mean when it says God desires “truth in the inward parts”?

how can one be a witness if they havenot witnessesd truthfully to themselves. meaning you have a log inyour that you need to acknowldege. you will see well enough after to witness about anothers life. get real about you rhabits and your life thusfar face the uncomfortable that you avoid somuch.

Key idea: Lies twist justice, which God hates.

Why does Proverbs connect lies with injustice (Prov 19:5; 17:15)?

Key idea: Only Christ can free us from lies, inside and out.

What would a community look like where everyone’s tongue reflected God’s truth?
