The Christmas Star
Jesus is the star of the show!
Read Matthew 2:1-12
The Star Went On Before Them
The star gave life to prophecy.
But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish; in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.
The star gave them a light so they could see where to go.
The star revealed the truth of the prophecy.
“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the forehead of Moab, And tear down all the sons of Sheth.
The King had come.
The star still goes on before us today.
Star
Light goes before us and beckons us to follow.
Life goes before us and beckons us to follow
Truth goes before us and beckons us to follow.
The Star Led Them To Jesus The True Star Of The Story
Light, Life, and truth all culminate themselves in Jesus.
I am the light of the world
I am the way the truth and the life.
The Star Still Shines for us today
Jesus takes us out of darkness and brings us into the light.
Jesus raises us from the dead and gives us new life.
Jesus exposes the lies of Satan and helps us see and know the truth.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!
When They Saw The Star They Rejoiced Exceedingly With Great Joy
The Proper Response
Exceedingly - vehemently
Hooting and hollering and jumping for joy.
They fell down and worshiped.
The Star Still Shines Today
We hoot and holler at ball games, why not for Jesus?
We still fall down in worship today.
Finally, one last way the star still shines today.
It shines through us.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Let Jesus shine through you and go share the light, life, and truth of Jesus to all those around you.
Our families need it, our friends need it, our world needs it.
