The KISS method: Keep It Simple Silly
The other day I was watching a show on I think the History or National Geographic channel about hidden messages in the Bible. Scholars from ancietn of times to present look at scrolls and some have said the Pentateuch has predicted many other events based on spacing of text, letters at certain spots, etc.
Our world needs a simple reminder of Christmas.
Our world needs a simple reminder of Christmas.
In the midst of the complexities of life we as God’s people need to share the simple message of Christmas—Jesus the Savior, God himself has come to the worl dHe has created.
Christmas reminds us God is working.

God uses the leaders of the day to help bring about the fulfillment of His Word. This does not mean leaders are always correct, good, nor godly. Just that God’s plans are not thwarted by human rulers/leaders.
Christmas reminds us Jesus comes in unexpected ways.

This is not how it should have gone. Have you had the thought recently? Mary and Joseph had plans and thigns just didn’t work out according to them. Sometimes this can be so frustrating we forget that God is still with us. The coming of Jesus was not by human design. Amen to that!!
Christmas reminds us greatness is often found in humble places.
Christmas reminds us greatness is often found in humble places.
Greatness is not found in the great places of the world but sometimes in the humble places of life. Bethlehem. Mary. Joseph. Galilee. Nazareth. The fields at night.
Christmas reminds us God brings Good News.

May we as His people do the same. We must be about sharing the story of God—evangelism. Angels are the first messengers and the shepherds the first human ones. Be a shepherd!
Christmas reminds us there is hope, joy, peace and love only in Jesus.

As we enter the final stretches of Advent may the lights of the wreath guide you to the person born in a manger. There are no hidden messages in the story of Jesus’ birth. There are “hard” things to believe but the story is quite simple.
What is Jesus saying to you? Who needs to hear the story of Christmas?
What is Jesus saying to you? Who needs to hear the story of Christmas?
Every week we need to ask this question—before and after—the service. Do you come expecting Jesus will break through in the normal, ordinary, and imperfect worship known as Sundays at FBC St. Paris? Yet, church is not just about coming adn hearing a message and keeping it to ourselves each week until the next Sunday comes around. We are meant to share the story!
