Christmas Eve 2025
The King Has Come To Be
With Us.
Merry Christmas Everyone. I thank you for being here to share in the greatest gift given to us, and that is Eternal Life, through Jesus Christ.
For the Month of December, I have been sharing about,
“The King Has Come”
We’ve seen that:
Jesus came to give us: HOPE
Jesus came to give us: Peace
Jesus came to give us: Joy
And today for the time we have together, I want to share that Jesus came: To Be With Us.
But before we start let’s look at a couple jokes.
* “If you finished your Christmas shopping early… congratulations.
You’re a miracle worker, and we’ll be anointing you to pray for the rest of us after service.”
*A little boy in a Christmas play was supposed to say:
“We have come to worship Him.”
But he proudly declared:
“We have come to wash Him!”
You know, he is Close enough — Jesus came to clean us, after all.
*“It’s Christmas Eve in New Jersey — which means it could snow, rain, or be 70 degrees.
We don’t know what season it is, but we know the reason!”
* Years ago, a woman rushed to buy Christmas cards.
She grabbed a pack of 50 without reading the inside, signed them, and mailed them quickly.
Later she looked at the one leftover card. Inside it said:
“This card is just to say… a big gift is on the way!”
She spent the rest of December hiding from her friends.
The King Has Come To Be With Us.
Matthew 1:18–25 (NKJV) 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” 24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
Jesus is our Emmanuel, He has promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us. AMEN!
Let’s look at a few point on how God is with us.
God is with us, in our waiting
Galatians 4:4 (NKJV) 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
Think of it, Israel had waited 400 years in prophetic silence. There were no angelic visitations. No new Scriptures. No visible movement. Their world looked unchanged—but heaven was moving behind the scenes.
Christmas reminds us that God’s timing is always perfect. He does not rush, and He does not delay. He steps in “in the fullness of time.”
Some of you have been praying, believing, hoping—and waiting. Christmas says: “Delays are not denials. God is working even when you can’t see it.”
Like a child watching cookies bake, pressing their face against the oven window, asking every 30 seconds, “Are they done yet?”
We’re like that with God. He’s like the parent saying, “Trust Me… if I take them out too soon, they fall apart.”
2. God is with us in our Fears.
Matthew 1:20 (NKJV) 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Like many of us at times, Joseph must have been afraid of what to think of his wife pregnant and now and angel’s visitation. But the angel’s first words, DO NOT BE AFRAID.
Think of it, Christmas begins with an angel saying: “Do not be afraid.”
And it ends with Jesus saying:
“Lo, I am with you always.” Mt.28.20
Fear loses it grip, when you know that God is near.
Church Family, In a world filled with anxiety, financial problems, family, health, our nation, the message of Emmanuel is:
“You don’t have to face this alone.”
Joseph must have thought, “This is NOT how I thought engagement was going to go!” Yet God turned his panic into purpose.
3. God is With Us in Our Weakness
God did not come as a warrior, politician, or king, He came as a baby.
Weakness is not where God avoids us, weakness is where God meets us. When we feel least capable is where His power shows up the clearest.
Some of you might feel weak tonight, maybe emotionally, physically, spiritually.
But Christmas declares:
“Your weakness is where Jesus shines.”
2 Corinthians 12:9a …“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…”
4. God Is With Us In Our Joy
Luke 2:10–11 (NKJV) 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
The first message heaven announced wasn’t judgment, it was joy. Joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances, but on a Savior who has come.
Christmas isn’t just a season, it’s a Savior. And He brings joy that money can’t buy and the world can’t take away.
Sometimes we Christians forget that joy is a fruit of the Spirit.
Christmas reminds us that holiness and happiness go hand in hand.
5. God Is With Us in Our Salvation
Matthew 1:21 (NKJV) 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Jesus didn’t come to just give us a holiday…
He came to give us salvation.
The name “Jesus” means “The Lord saves.”
He was born to die.
He died to rise.
He rose to return.
Jesus Is Coming Again
From the manger to His mission, His purpose was always our redemption.
The greatest gift isn’t under the tree, the greatest gift hung on a tree. Salvation is not achieved, church family, it’s received.
6. God Is With Us Forever
Matthew 28:20b …“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
The story of “God with us” did not end at Christmas church family.
It didn’t end at the cross.
It didn’t end at the resurrection.
Jesus promises His ongoing presence, that He is faithful and unchanging.
We See:
Emmanuel in the manger
Emmanuel on the cross
Emmanuel in the empty tomb
Emmanuel in our hearts
Emmanuel in our future
Emmanuel when He returns
People may leave us. Seasons may change. Life may shake.
But Emmanuel is always with us.
“We don’t go into a new year alone, church family. We enter it with Emmanuel.” God With Us.
Altar Call: A gift only becomes yours when you open it.
Tonight is a perfect night to “unwrap” God’s gift of salvation.
John 3:16–17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
