The Crown Of Glory, The Suffering Servant.

Be it fitting that our Lord was given a Crown of thorns during his Passion for the whole world, Perfectly beffiting the fact that he had bore all of the Sin of man that would come to him, Perfectly fuffling Genesis 3:17–19And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”” Thorns came to the earth due to sin, And our Lord, our creator took those thorns upon himself as he bore the sins of the world on the Cross. When Aaron and his sons were consecrated as priests they to were also given a crown (Leviticus 8:9) This was also the beggining of the High priests role. Kings always had a crown bestowed upon there head Psalm 21:3 No doubt the Forces of hell where having a heyday in the hall of pilate as these things where transpiring but little did they know this was Hell’s undoing, Hell must have a short memory as 4000 years before hand God made it quite clear in Genesis 3:14-15 that the Serpent’s head would be bruised by the offspring of Eve, Jesus having been a descendant of David whom was a Descendant of Noah, who was a Descendant of Eve, Hell was deafted this day and yet tthe forces of Hell thought they had won a Victory of the Son of God and yet in his death, He won the ultimate victory making the accusations of The Adversary Null and void and God’s perfect justice having been Fuffiled.
The overarching fact that Jesus was adorned a Purple Robe is alos beffting for His majesty, His royalty, his Status as the Highest, the Giver of Wealth, Prosperity and been our ultimate High preist who would atone the Sins of mankind and Rekindle our relationship back to God. In the Old testament the Colour purple has a Very important significance.
Purple represents royalty, majesty and high officials (Judges 8:26, Esther 8:15) as well as conveying the meaning of wealth, prosperity (Exodus 28:5, Ezekiel 27:7, Proverbs 31:22, Song of Solomon 3:10, 7:5, Luke 16:19, Acts 16:14, Revelation 17:4, 18:12, 16).
It was an integral part of the temple and its services (Exodus 25:4, 26:1, 36, 27:16, Numbers 4:13, etc.). It was used in curtains (veils) and carpets found in the tabernacle (along with blue, scarlet and white), as well as the garments worn by the High Priest. Working with it was such an important skill that King Solomon requested from Tyre's King Hiram a man specializing in dyeing with it to supervise building the temple.
The pharesiiess would qoute Leviticus 24:16, yet strangly did not see the irony in the fact they were not following that law correctly and had helped jesus fufil what he had spoken many times prior to “been lifted up” When Jesus told Pilate that he has no authority unless he was given it from above, ties back to the fact that God alone is sovreign (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 103:19, Isaiah 40:23, Daniel 2:21, 2 Chronicles 20:6) Jesus was crucifeid wiht 2 other criminals fuffiling Isaiah 53:12 as well as many other prophsies in the Book of Isaiah. Psalm 22 is often the Go to Psalm for what Jesus qoutes and fuffils, In the Psalm David makes man who is persecuting the lord to be like animals, not only does Jesus fufil this perfectly If we read pslam 22 slowly, we see that everything is fuffiled perectly in christ during the crusifixtion.
Other massive connections are found in Exodus 12:46, Numbers 9:12, Psalm 34:20 When reading the Psalm 34 knowing it is about david changed his mind, praised the lord and speaks about the redemption of the lords servants and that the rightous will suffer. When reading Psalm 34, Picture Jesus as the leader and singer of this Psalm to help capture the beauty and the overarching connection. We also see John 19:37, a prohpecy found in Zechariah 12:10 is fuffilled and also Zechariah 13:7 with the smitten shepherd and another connection to Zechariah 3:8-9 Isaiah 53:5,10 and Isaiah 11:1-12 are also important to keep in mind when reading this chapter in John. Another overarching connection and somthing to ponder on is the connection of Exodus 17:6 and Numbers 20:11 and the water that gushed out of Jesus’s side when he was pierced. note 1 Corinthians 10:4 Joseph of Airmathea was a memeber of the Sanherdrin (Luke 23:50-51) was a secret disciple of Jesus who was seeking the kingdom of God but was fearful of his Jewish brothers and we see that in Matthew 27:57-60 he ffils what is written in Isaiah 53:9 by using the Tomb he owned for the body of Jesus.
