Call to Worship
"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior... Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!" (Luke 1:46-47, 10).
Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, we have gathered here together to exalt You Holy Name. May we, with Mary, magnify You, and rejoice in You. May You be honored in our worship this day.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pastor’s Prayer
Holy Father,
We are so grateful that we can approach Your throne with confidence, since we have obtained access to You through our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, we acknowledge that true joy only comes to us through Jesus Christ. And that when we are in a right relationship with Him, we receive His gift of joy — this joy which is unspeakable and full of glory.
Father, I pray for those who are hurting this Christmas season. We have many who have lost loved ones, who will be experiencing their first Christmas without them. This is so difficult! Lord, I pray that You would give them a special sense of both peace and joy and they walk through this season.
Lord, we others who are hurting because of health issues. We think of Jodi, recovering from both a heart attack and open-heart surgery. Please be with her, and with those who are ministering to her.
We think of Kristen Davis whose kidneys are failing. She has to make life-changing decisions about this. Give her wisdom and peace as she make those decisions.
We think of Pastor J who is recovering from surgery. Help him to get well again.
Father, there are so many others who are hurting, who have not been mentioned here. You know who they are and what their needs are. We commit them to You.
Father, I pray for any here this morning who have never embraced the gospel of Christ; I pray that this would be the day in which they do, and that they would be deliver from the kingdom of darkness, and transferred into the Kingdom of Christ.
It is in His name I pray. Amen.
