Opening Scripture:

Matthew 11:28–30 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
In first-century Judaism, the term “yoke” (zygos in Greek; ʿol in Hebrew) was a well-known metaphor:
It referred to submission to authority
specifically it described obedience to the Torah
Rabbis spoke of taking on “the yoke of the Law” or “the yoke of the Kingdom
No Jewish listener would have heard “yoke” as freedom from obedience. They would have heard a call to disciplined faithfulness.
Biblical peace (shalom) is not the absence of responsibility, suffering, or struggle.
It is:
Wholeness
Right order
Harmony with God
Through Jesus we can confidently come to 2 solid conclusions
We Must FULLY Surrender to Jesus and Make Him Lord over our life in order to walk in true peace
We MUST be willing to become a disciple of Jesus — Follow His example & Answer His all to serve.

The Weight God Will Carry

Psalm 55:22 NIV
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
We don’t have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulder even though we fall into the trap of thinking that we have to
God tells us multiple times in scripture to cast the weight we carry over to Him.
When we strive to live in righteousness through Jesus we are focusing on coming closer to our heavenly Father
Because the world shakes around us doesn’t mean that we have to be shaken.
When we plant our foundation in God through Jesus we are immovable
What weight do you need to let go of and let God carry for you?

The Weight That You MUST Carry

Psalm 62:8 NIV
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
Trust in itself can be a heavy weight that we all MUST carry at one point in time or another within our lives.
Trusting in people often times hinders the way that we trust God…
We can trust God more than we can trust anyone else — For God is Faithful!!
Where there is broken trust there is a hindered faith
Are you willing to put your faith and trust in God more than anything or anyone else?

Take Your Heart To God

Philippians 4:6–7 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
When we store the worries and stress of this life within our hearts we add unnecessary weight to our lives.
God gives us an open invitation for us to cast our worries and concerns over to Him
We often times take our heart to the wrong sources and wonder why we still have no peace…
Peace is not found in more wealth
Peace is not found in just another relationship
Peace is not found in having a bigger house
peace is not found in having a better looking car
Peace is only found in Jesus!!
Will you take your heart to Him or will you keep it trapped within the worries of this life?
