Sermon Title:

“In the Midst of the Land” Texts: Exodus 8:22, Psalm 110:2, Revelation 1:13

Big Idea:

God does not rule from afar. He reigns in the midst. Judgment, protection, power, and presence all flow from His throne—right in the middle of the land, the Church, and the battle.

Sermon Flow Outline:

1. Yahweh Is In the Midst (Exodus 8:22)
This wasn’t just about flies and frogs.
It was a geographical declaration of lordship.
Goshen wasn’t protected because of political neutrality—it was preserved because Yahweh was there.
His presence distinguished His people and drew a line in the land.
2. The Messiah Rules In the Midst of His Enemies (Psalm 110:2)
The same phrase resurfaces in Psalm 110.
This is a picture of dominion under pressure—a throne planted not in heaven alone, but right in the contested territory.
Jesus doesn’t reign from a distant galaxy.
He rules amidst the rebellion—unthreatened, unshaken.
3. Jesus Walks In the Midst of His Churches (Revelation 1:13)
The glorified Christ is not aloof—He is among the lampstands.
This is both comfort and correction.
He is not watching from a distance; He is inspecting, empowering, and judging from within.

Pastoral Pivot:

God does not reign from a bunker. He reigns in the battlefield. His rule is not postponed—it is present. And wherever He places His people, He places His presence.

Applications:

Stop praying for Jesus to “show up.” He’s already in the midst.
You are Goshen—not because of geography, but because of grace.
Stand firm. If Christ rules in the midst of enemies, you can stand in the midst of pressure.
Live like the King is walking among us—because He is.
Let your home, your table, your life become a Goshen marker—a place that screams: “Yahweh reigns here.”
Preach like judgment is coming—but Goshen still exists.

Gospel Call:

There is no safety outside the presence of the King. Come out of Egypt. Come out of rebellion. Come into Goshen. Come under the blood. Jesus reigns—in the midst. Don’t wait for safety in the future—run to it now.
