Introduction

Welcome and encouragement to use our Bibles.
Illustration:
From childhood to adulthood, we constantly hear the warning: “Be careful.”
Parents, spouses, and friends repeat it because danger may be involved.
Meaning of the phrase “be careful”:
Suggests risk, danger, or the possibility of harm.
Calls for awareness, caution, and deliberate action.
Application:
If God tells us to “be careful,” those warnings deserve serious attention.
Theme:
Five times in Scripture where the Lord warns us to be careful.

I. Be Careful What You Listen Too

A. Jesus’ Warning

“Take heed what you hear” (NKJV).
“Take c are what you listen to” (NASB).
Parallel account: “Take heed how you hear” (Luke 8:18).

C. Importance of Reliable Sources

In everyday life (medical, legal, educational), the source matters.
Spiritually, the source matters even more.

V. Be Careful to Maintain Good Works

B. Why Be Careful to Maintain Good Works?

a. Doing Good Requires Alertness
Easy to become self-focused.
Must look out for others’ needs (Phil. 2:4).
Watch lest others fall short (Heb. 12:15).
b. Doing Good Requires Effort
“Work” implies energy and action.
Easier to rest than to serve.
Requires intentional sacrifice.
c. Doing Good Can Lead to Weariness
Danger of burnout.
Warning given - Galatians 6:9–10
Must persevere and not quit.

Conclusion

God repeatedly warns us to be careful:
How we hear His word
How we walk in daily life
How we maintain good works
These warnings exist because:
Danger is real
Deception is possible
Eternity is at stake
Final exhortation:
Take God’s warnings seriously.
Walk carefully, listen carefully, serve faithfully, and build wisely.
