Title: The Lamb of Heaven Praised
Subtitle: Who Is Worthy of Our Worship?
🎬 OPENING
Over the past weeks, we have followed the story of the Lamb. Before Bethlehem, He was eternal with the Father—preincarnate and glorious. At the right moment, He was prepared and sent, wrapped in flesh and humility. He was proclaimed as the Savior of all—good news of great joy for every people and every nation. And now, we see where the story has always been headed. Christmas does not end at the manger. It ends at the throne. Revelation 5 pulls back the curtain and shows us the Lamb who was slain and now reigns forever. And it confronts us with one defining question: Who is worthy to be praised and worshiped in our lives?
Phrase of the day: Christmas doesn’t end at the manger. It ends at the throne.
Road Map (spoken clearly):
“Tonight, we’ll see why the Lamb is worthy, and then we’ll join heaven in worshiping Him.”

When No One Is Worthy, Hope Weeps
When No One Is Worthy, Hope Weeps
1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
God’s plan is written, but inaccessible

The scroll holds the final judgement and final redemption of the world.

When the scroll stays sealed, the future stays broken.

2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it,
There is no angels or principalities that can overcome the wicked and bring redemption. All of creation is unable to save itself.

Where there is no redeemer redemption is lost.
Where there is no redeemer redemption is lost.
4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
Application:
We weep when we place our hope in things that cannot save.
Transition:
If salvation is not found in heaven, earth, or under the earth there is only one place left: The Throne itself.

5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
The Lion of Judah has conquered sin and death.

The Lion became a sacrificial Lamb for the redemption of mankind.

Heaven’s power looks like sacrifice.

Worthiness flows from obedience, not dominance
Worthiness flows from obedience, not dominance
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Application:
The weeping turns to worship when we witness the Lion as the Lamb.
11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
“The Lamb does not demand worthiness from us—He offers it to us.”
COMMUNION TRANSITION
Say Slowly: “We come to the table because the Lamb was slain.
We worship because the Lamb now reigns.”

The Lamb Reigns in Spirit and Truth
The Lamb Reigns in Spirit and Truth
6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
Sevenfold Spirit (tight, rhythmic):
The Spirit of the LORD: The source and authority of all that follows.
The Spirit of Wisdom: The ability to apply truth rightly.
The Spirit of Understanding: Insight, discernment, and perception.
The Spirit of Counsel: Divine guidance and direction.
The Spirit of Might: Power to act, overcome, and accomplish God’s will.
The Spirit of Knowledge: True knowledge of God, not mere information.
The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD: Reverent awe that leads to obedience and worship.
Application:
We don’t need substitutes when we have the fullness of Christ.
The Lamb put a new song in our hearts

8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
Worthiness demands Worship
Worthiness demands Worship
Worship is the natural response to true worth.

Application:
Worship is not background music. It is a declaration of loyalty.

11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
Repeat after me:
Repeat after me:
12 …“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
Repeat after me:
Repeat after me:
13 …“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
