Bible Passage
Will you not revive us again
so that your people may rejoice in you?
INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
Step with me, church, into the valley.
Not a valley of green pastures, but a valley where hope has dried up,
where dreams have turned to dust,
and where the only sound is the rattle of bones.
Bones that once marched in victory, now scattered and silent.
Ezekiel stands, surrounded by the remains of a nation, staring at what looks like the end.
But then—God speaks.
“Son of man, can these bones live?”
Ezekiel answers, “O Lord God, You know.”
And God commands, “Prophesy to these bones!”
As the prophet speaks, there’s a sound—a shaking, a rattling, a coming together.
Bone to bone, flesh upon flesh.
But still, there’s no breath.
Then God says, “Prophesy to the wind! Call for the breath!”
And as the Spirit of God moves, breath enters those lifeless forms, and an army rises up—restored, revived, and ready for battle!
Church, I came to tell you:
If God can make dry bones dance, He can revive your heart, your home, your church, and your community!
THE CRY FOR REVIVAL: “WILL YOU NOT REVIVE US AGAIN?” (Psalm 85:6)
THE CRY FOR REVIVAL: “WILL YOU NOT REVIVE US AGAIN?” (Psalm 85:6)
The text declares: “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
This is not just a question—it’s a desperate plea,
a holy hunger,
a soul-deep longing for God to do what only God can do.
The psalmist remembers God’s past mercies,
but he’s not content with yesterday’s blessings.
He’s crying out for a fresh outpouring,
a new season of joy,
a revival that shakes the very foundations of the people of God.
Revival is not a program,
not a performance,
not a personality,
it is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit,
breathing new life into what was dead,
restoring what was lost,
and igniting a fire that cannot be quenched.
It is God’s answer to spiritual drought,
His remedy for weary souls,
His promise to a people who dare to ask, “Lord, do it again!”
THE CONDITIONS FOR REVIVAL: REPENTANCE, PRAYER, AND HOLY DESIRE
THE CONDITIONS FOR REVIVAL: REPENTANCE, PRAYER, AND HOLY DESIRE
Revival doesn’t come by accident—it comes by alignment.
It comes when God’s people humble themselves, turn from their wicked ways, and seek His face with all their hearts.
Repentance is the doorway to revival.
Prayer is the pathway to power.
A sincere desire to draw closer to God is the spark that sets the fire ablaze.
We are taught that true revival is always rooted in the Word, watered by prayer, and made fruitful by obedience.
It is not emotionalism, but transformation.
It is not hype, but holiness.
It is not a moment, but a movement—when the Holy Spirit takes control, and Jesus becomes the center of everything we do.
If you want revival, you must be willing to let go of pride, confess your sins, and invite the Spirit to do a new thing in you.
You must hunger for God more than you hunger for comfort, tradition, or applause.
You must say, “Lord, whatever it takes, revive me—revive us—again!”
PRACTICAL STEPS TO CULTIVATE REVIVAL—PERSONALLY AND COLLECTIVELY
PRACTICAL STEPS TO CULTIVATE REVIVAL—PERSONALLY AND COLLECTIVELY
So what must we do to be revived again?
We need to Repent Daily:
Search your heart.
Confess what needs to be confessed.
Let nothing stand between you and God.
We need to Pray Fervently:
Make prayer your first response, not your last resort.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, your family, and your church.
We need to be Immersed in the Word:
Revival is always anchored in Scripture.
Let the Word of God shape your thoughts, your choices, your destiny.
We need to Obey Promptly:
When God speaks, move!
Obedience is the evidence of revival.
We need to Pursue Unity:
Revival flourishes where there is love, forgiveness, and unity among God’s people.
We need to Engage in Mission:
Revival is not just for us—it’s for the world. Share your faith. Serve your neighbor. Let the fire spread!
THE PROMISE OF REVIVAL: JOY RESTORED, PURPOSE RENEWED
THE PROMISE OF REVIVAL: JOY RESTORED, PURPOSE RENEWED
When God revives His people, joy returns.
Not the joy of circumstances, but the joy of His presence.
Not the happiness of the world, but the deep, abiding gladness that comes from knowing you are loved, forgiven, and empowered by the Spirit.
Revival restores your song, renews your strength, and releases you into your God-given purpose.
It turns dry bones into a mighty army.
It turns mourning into dancing.
It turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.
God is not finished with you.
He is not finished with this church.
He is not finished with this generation.
He is ready to revive, restore, and release a fresh wave of His Spirit—if we will only ask!
Closing
Closing
As I close, i want you to now tonight the wind of the Spirit blowing!
I hear the rattling of dry bones coming together!
I see the embers of revival beginning to glow!
We as a church declare “Revive us again!”
Revive our hearts, Lord!
Revive our homes, Lord!
Revive our children, Lord!
Revive our church, Lord!
Let the fire fall!
Let the wind blow!
Let the river flow!
We’re tired of business as usual.
We’re hungry for a move of God!
We’re desperate for the Holy Ghost!
We declare, “Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit, says the Lord!”
If you want revival, we must lift our hands!
If you need a fresh touch, we must open our mouths!
If you’re ready for the fire, we must give God a praise!
Because the same God who raised dry bones,
the same God who poured out His Spirit at Pentecost,
the same God who revived His people in days gone by—
He is here, right now, ready to do it again!
So, Lord, revive us again!
Let Your people rejoice in You!
Let the church say, “Amen!”
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!
Let the fire of revival fall—right here, right now, in Jesus’ name!
