Numbers 22 – A Prophet for Profit

1. How does Balaam initially respond to God’s command not to curse Israel?

2. Why is it significant that Balaam can communicate with God despite not being an Israelite? Are there people today that may be able to hear the voice of God while also practicing forms of paganism or spirituality? If so, what precautions should we take in interacting with such people?

3. Are there examples of modern-day churches incorporating pagan practices or teachings? If so, what are some examples? Why do you think these churches are tempted to adopt such dangerous ideologies?
