Therefore Holy Brothers
V 11 not ashamed to call them brothers
Called them Holy He is speaking to the church here
there are believers and ones who profess to be a believer

V 2
Comparing to Moses
Comparing to Moses
God the Father appointed the Son as the Apostle to this world to come and die for His to be adopted children
Jesus was faithful to His calling
everything the Father wanted Jesus did
And Jesus is faithful to His bride
Now the author is going to compare to Moses
as good as Moses was
every Israelite from the time of Moses to the present considers him to be the greatest man ever
but like before these people needed to know that Jesus was superior to the angels as a spiritual being - God
the man Jesus is just as superior to Moses
V 2 faithful to HIM the Father
Moses was faithful to God in His house
the House was Gods people the Israelites , the Israelite nation
Moses recieved the Law from God
Moses talked to God as you and I talk
Moses lead the people out of captivity to the border of the promised land
Moses was faithful in and a part of the house
But Jesus
V 3
Jesus is the builder of the house
what is this house?
“He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone.
Jesus is the cornerstone of the foundation of this house
So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,
you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
we are this house. we are these living stones that Jesus is assembling int a beautiful house
Jesus is the builder- we are the house that belongs to God
we are God’s house
the people not the building
V 4
as the builder of this house Jesus receives more glory than Moses who was apart of the house of God
V 5
Moses was a faithful servant/ slave in Gods house Israel
V 6
But Jesus is the Son
the son is 100% higher than the servant
the son receives the inheritance
the servant continues to work as a slave
the second half of this verse begins with an
IF
IF
is there conditions that we need to meet to stay saved?
if we hold our confidence
if we continue to boast in our hope
lets review what happens when we are saved
For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
because those whom he knew in advance, he also determined in advance would be conformed to the pattern of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers;
and those whom he thus determined in advance, he also called; and those whom he called, he also caused to be considered righteous; and those whom he caused to be considered righteous he also glorified!
God foreknew that Israel would be His people (Ro 11:2
Here in Romans 8:29 Paul is saying that God has predetermined the destiny or the future of each believer, a glorious future in which he or she will be like Christ
Conformed refers to the conformity of children of God "to the image of His Son". To resemble his Son; to be of like form with the image of his Son.
Gilbrant Paul used conform to indicate that God has already determined that those who become His sons will be changed to be like Christ, i.e., “conformed to the image” of Jesus.
Image properly, "mirror-like representation," i.e. what is very close in resemblance (like a "high-definition"
Spurgeon - The general call of the gospel is like the common "cluck" of the hen which she is always giving when her chickens are around her. But if there is any danger impending, then she gives a very peculiar call, quite different from the ordinary one, and the little chicks come running as fast as they can, and hide for safety under her wings. That is the call we want, God's peculiar and effectual call to his own.
John Piper that "dead men" like Lazarus do not hear, so that Jesus' call to Lazarus came with the gift of life to enable Lazarus to hear and come forth.
Justified to be found not guilty
The result of the calling is justification
result of the justification is glorification
Jesus after His resurrection had a glorified body
as we will have
as we have seen the process of salvation is all of God
so lets get back to this if
this if is not a condition that we need to meet to stay saved
our works does not save us nor keep us saved
but a condition that we must look at our selves and see if we are saved to begin with
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?
Consider Jesus
Is he your saviour?
Do you have confidence in the Hope of eternal life with Him?
Think about these things
