A New Year. A New Beginning.

Joshua 1:1–2 NKJV
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.

We are Called to Possess the Land

Deuteronomy 1:21 NKJV
Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’

We Must Let Go of the Past

Joshua 1:2 NKJV
“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.
We lost people.
We lost opportunities.
We lost ground.
We lost our way.
We lost our hope.
One of the greatest hindrances to gaining what is ahead of us is grieving over what is behind us.
We must let go of the “old thing” in the past and embrace the “new thing” that God has set before us.
Isaiah 43:18–21 NKJV
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise

Embrace God’s New Beginning

Embrace your new beginning in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Forget those things that are behind (Philippians 3:12-14)
Change the past from a tombstone into a steppingstone.
Let go of anything that hinders or weighs you down.
Get up and get back into the race.
Set your eye on the prize.
Run for the finish line.
2 Timothy 4:7–8 NKJV
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
