God intends that the authorities he has ordained on earth and the freedom Christ has purchased should not destroy but mutually uphold and preserve each other. And so, those who oppose any lawful power or the lawful exercise of power, whether civil or ecclesiastical, on the pretext of Christian freedom, are actually resisting God.14 The support, promotion, or practice of such opposition, which contradicts natural understanding or the known principles of Christianity on matters of faith, worship, and associations, which denies the power of godliness, or which disrupts the peace and unity among believers, should lawfully be called to account and proceeded against by the church.15

1 - ordained: Meaning God decreed or established. And we know He ordained all things, so that means ALL earthly authorities are established by God. (Romans 13:1 “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”)
Not to say that God approves all that they do. eg., Just like, any authority Satan has in this world is ordained by God but God is repulsed… (NEXT)
2 - and the liberty which Christ has ordained, and the liberty which Christ has purchased:
which is the freedom from bondage and penalty of our sins and from Satan, ultimately God’s wrath in eternal damnation. To a true freedom and empowerment of Holy Spirit to serve and love God and others without fear, as adopted children.
This is what Paul was alluding to in Galatians 5:1 “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” … (NEXT)

In other words, God intends for us to stand firm in the freedom of Christ, while keeping the civil laws of our earthly government.

And, for their publishing of such opinions, or maintaining of such practices, as are contrary to the light of nature(natural understanding), or to the known principles of Christianity (whether concerning faith, worship, or conversation)(as instructed by the Scriptures), or to the power of godliness(work of the Holy Spirit); or, such erroneous(wrong) opinions or practices, as either in their own nature(internal/fleshly/false conviction), or in the manner of publishing or maintaining them(promoting false/rebellious convictions to others),
d. are destructive to the external peace and order which Christ has established(ordained) in the Church,
Destructive: We are not to take it lightly when we see a member rebel in this way.
Because such resistance against even human authority instituted by Christ is again resisting His authority and will incur judgement it says in (Romans 13:1–2 )“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”
So 1 Peter 2:13 “Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,”

Meaning church is responsible for spiritual discipline when necessary and for you to submit to the spiritual authority handed to the church by Christ.

Q 5. What do the Scriptures principally teach?
The Scriptures principally teach, what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man.
Why is this important?
John 16:13–14 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
Do you want to know truth? Truth is solely in the scriptures. Any other source that is not the word of God is false. What is truth? God is truth.
And who is God that you should believe?
John 20:31 “but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
What is required of you?
1 John 2:27 “But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”
Our Father God Who Art...Hallowed be Thy Name
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done...
Give us this day our daily bread...
And forgive us our sin...
As we forgive those who sin against us...
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
