Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

Introduction

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah Reads Like the entire Bible in a sense.

The first 39 books speaks of condemnation

The last 27 books speak of consolation or redemption

The northern kingdom had been captured by Assyria and the southern kingdom of Judah was heading for a similar end. Isaiah pronounces God’s judgment on the sins of Judah and then the surrounding nations. But Isaiah goes on to console God’s people with his message of future restoration and hope.

Israel was destraught as they were in the final stages of collapse.

The felt like there was no hope.

But Isaiah prophesied during the reign of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekia.

In the last 27 chapters Isaiah has two servants of God in view.

Isaiah is talking about the faithful obedient Savior to come and the disobedient people as in Israel.

Isaiah 43 speaks of 3 Promises

First, God promised Babylon would fall. Isaiah 43:14

Second, God promised a new Exodus

Isaiah 43:16-21

Third, God promised the outpouring of the Spirit. Isaiah 44:1-5

God Is Doing A New Thing Forget About The Old Things

Isaiah 43:18 ““Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.”

Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,”

God Is Doing A New Thing You Don’t Know About!

Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

On the road to heaven we have no clue of the things we will encounter…

God Is Doing A New Thing Give Him Praise

Isaiah 43:20 “The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen.”

Isaiah 43:21 “This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.”

Ephesians 1:5 “having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,”
