Invitation
Invitation
Listen to the inviting words of the Lord to his children from John 6:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. (John 6:53–57).”
With these words we invite you to the Lord’s Table, which he has set for all his disciples.
To be clear, this is a symbolic meal; we eat and drink as a memorial to our Lord Jesus.
The bread represents the body of Jesus and the cup represents the blood of Jesus.
As we eat and drink, we are displaying our union with him by faith.
So let us now reverently and joyfully prepare to dine with Christ.

This sacred time at the Lord’s Table is for baptized believers who have rested all their hope on the death and resurrection of Christ.
If you are not yet a baptized believer, you should refrain from partaking until you come to faith in Christ and are baptized—and then joyfully partake along with the body of Christ on the next occasion.
We encourage those of you who are baptized believers to examine your hearts, so that you can partake in a worthy manner.
Likewise, if you are currently rebelling against the Lord and refusing to repent of some known sin, please refrain until you repent and come worthily to partake.
To all who are partaking: when the bread and the cup are served, we ask that you hold them, so that we all partake together.
Prayer & Distribution
Prayer & Distribution
I will pray for us and in just a moment, the elders will distribute the elements.
While Nathan plays softly, examine yourself so that you may eat in a worthy manner.

Words of Institution
Paul writes to the church:
“For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this is remembrance of me.’ In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes” (1 Cor. 11:23–26).
