Why do we read the Bible?

Explain the why’s series
let’s pray
So i want to start these lessons by asking you a question- Why Do we Read The Bible
Allow students to respond by raising hands and passing a mic if necessary
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,”
This verses is what we are going to focus on tonight.
Now who in this room has ever opened and read the bible on their own?
Teaching - the occupation, profession, or work of a teacher.
Reproof - an expression of blame or disapproval.
Correction - the action or process of correcting something.
Training - the action of teaching a person or animal a particular skill or type of behavior.
Righteousness - the quality of being morally right or justifiable.
As we start the new year, has anybody made a new years resolution?
Maybe to lose some weight, workout more, spend less time on your phone, or even study harder?
This year i want us to make a resolution together to spend time with Jesus every day.
And at first this might seem daunting but it’s possible!
I want to help you with this and encourage you along the way but it requires you to wait it.
You need 2 apps
#1 Refuge Cleveland - Download it and join the students community group. This is where we will talk about it during the week we will talk about how it’s going and what were learning.
#2 You Version Bible - Download the app and use the QR code to join my plan!
This year i want us to talk through these questions, the questions you want to know. So i have selected the first 5 based off of questions i think we all might have. But after those i want to work though some of yours.
So we have a questions box in the back, and i want you to write down your questions big or small. Include your name if you feel comfortable and we will talk about it. If its a topic i can teach on then i will, if not we will discuss it in small group time as well!
I am excited for what 2026 has to offer and i hope you are too, let’s pray
