Scripture 6:10-18
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
There is a evil
The devil has schemes and pitfalls
We take a position of standing against the schemes
The only way we stand effectivly against him is by putting on Gods armor
“Paul calls this spiritual warfare not because we’re chasing the enemy—but because there is resistance.
Paul in this moment gives us a recipe to help us endure, to withstand the plots and the attacks of the the enemy and this warfare
Big Giant: Some of us are don’t with New Year’s resolutions .
The question isn’t ‘How do I crush this year?’ It’s ‘How do I get through this year with my faith intact?’”
“This year won’t be won by attacking harder—but by standing stronger in what God has already given us.”
Paul uses what is around him as metaphor to convey spiritual princples , how we much intentioanll;ty make a choice to put on what has has over what we currently posess.
“The Armor of God is not magical protection. It’s a picture of what a healthy, grounded Christian life looks like under pressure.”
“The armor doesn’t help you attack the enemy — it helps you not fall apart when life pushes back.”
Armor breakdown
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Insights about the armor

The armor Is not yours… its Gods
We form a position of victory
he dosnt say to attck, or conquer, he call us to stand

Stand

After you’ve done all of that then stand
Is standing fightitng?
its not passive , its actually combative
The line is where the battle is won
when you give up space you give the enemy permission to take territory
he mentions stand 4 times in these 10 versesWhy is this important right now especially in the new year?
he is telling us to stand our ground, hold the line , maintain our postion, becuase when trails come you wont be moved.
some of us are trying to attack this year already and you might feel defeated already.
are you doing it with him.
How can God help me stand? Isn’t that something I can do alone.
some of dont need another resolution, we need God to help us stand
“This year won’t be won by attacking harder—but by standing stronger in what God has already given us.”
