INTRODUCTION

Ephesians 4:7–16 “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

WHAT IS 5 FOLD MINISTRY?

Ephesians 4:11 AMP

And [His gifts to the church were varied and] He Himself appointed some as apostles [special messengers, representatives], some prophets [who speak a new message from God to the people], some as evangelists [who spread the good news of salvation], and some as pastors and teachers [to shepherd and guide and instruct].

SOME ARE 5 FOLD. FALSE BURDENS BEING PLACED ON PEOPLE

5 fold tests etc..

Apostle: Messengers, representatives, builders, establishers, planters, pioneers. apostles and prophets foundation

Prophet: Brings direction to the church as well as fresh revelation. New wineskin. Tells the people what God is doing and saying NOW.

Evangelist: Soul winning and equipping in identity.

Pastors: Shepherd the flock.

Teachers: Keep the church grounded in truth.

5 FOLD OFFICES ARE THE THE GIFT TO THE CHURCH.

PURPOSE OF 5 FOLD MINISTRY?

EQUIP ALL BELIEVERS FOR THE WORK OF MINISTRY

EDIFY (BUILD UP) THE BODY OF CHRIST

RAISE UP MATURE BELIEVERS AND PROTECT THE BODY

5 Fold has been given to train and equip believers to represent Jesus well inside and outside of the church.

And to propell them into destiny, fulfill their purpose.

Even Evangelists! We are used to seeing wounded, rejected, and rebellious Evangelists only working outside of the church.

MANY DIFFERENT CALLINGS

Romans 12:3–8 “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”

MOTIVATIONAL GIFTS

1 Corinthians 12:4–11 “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

1 Corinthians 12:12–31 “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.”

PUTTING ON THE WRONG MANTLE/DISTRACTIONS

Return Genesis 39:12 “that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.”

THE ENEMY WANTED JOSEPH’S MANTLE. HE LOST THE MANTLE IN THE NATURAL BUT HE WAS THE GIFT, AND HE STILL WORE THE COAT IN THE SPIRIT. THE COAT OF MANY COLOURS WAS A REFELCTION OF WHAT HE WAS ALREADY WEARING IN THE SPIRIT.

1 Samuel 17:38–40 “So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand.
