Isaiah 43:18-19

welcome
tell story of me and Nash playing catch, only i was looking at my phone, not paying attention
talked about not worrying about tomorrow in my last sermon of the year 2025, my first sermon of the year in 2026 I’m talking about not camping out in yesterday…
preach
cant get through tomorrows breakthrough with yesterdays faith…
if you have the same faith you did two years ago is your faith growing? and you know how you grow your faith, by being with God, being close to God, being in his word!
so if its the same as two years ago have you been closer to God have you been in his word more?? come on now!
and here is the truth you have been so locked into yesterday’s pain, yesterday’s success, yesterday’s failure, yesterday’s version of yourself that you don’t even notice God trying to do something new right in front of you?
Isaiah 43 is not a whisper. It is not a suggestion. It is a divine interruption.
God steps into the middle of His people’s story and says:
Isaiah 43:18–19 NLT
“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
lets talk about this real quick!!
Israel is not in a good place when this word comes.
They’re in exile.
They’ve lost their land.
Lost their identity.
Lost their confidence.
And God starts reminding them of the past,
how He parted the Red Sea, how He crushed Pharaoh, how He drowned the enemy.
but then he says
Isaiah 43:18 NLT
“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
oh…thats why i put the ear piece in today i knew i was going to need my hands…
preach with fire God
dont stay in the past…forget all that…
Because the danger isn’t that God stops moving…The danger is that we stop perceiving.

POINT 1: THE PAST CAN BECOME A PRISON

talk about perception is reality…
he says it in Isaiah 43.19
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
so if we are here looking in the past our perception is just that…God can and will only move like that…
lets look at it like this…
One of Israel’s greatest miracle was the Red Sea. Water split. Enemy drowned. Freedom secured.
But when they reach the Jordan River some years later, God doesn’t do it the same way. This time, He says to the priests, “Step in first.” Feet get wet before the water moves. Joshua 3:13
Joshua 3:13 ESV
And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”
can you imagine if they said nope not how he does it…
Listen if Israel had stood there saying, “God, do it like You did before,” they would have died on the edge of promise.
Here’s the truth: The miracle that got you out won’t always be the miracle that gets you in.
Don’t get it twisted, he’s Same God. Different season. Different method.
God provided manna, bread from heaven. which was a miracle every morning. Exodus tells us in Exodus 16:19–20
Exodus 16:19–20 ESV
And Moses said to them, “Let no one leave any of it over till the morning.” But they did not listen to Moses. Some left part of it till the morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them.
Why?
Because God was teaching them: Yesterday’s provision is not tomorrows…goes hand in hand, don’t worry about tomorrow because you cant trust him today!
Isaiah 43:18 NLT
“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
Notice, God doesn’t say deny the past. He says don’t dwell there.
its good to look at what God has done in our lives cause when we can see what he has done we know he can do it again…just not the same way always…
Some of us don’t live in the present. We live in replay.
Replay of the divorce. Replay of the addiction. Replay of the failure. Replay of the church hurt. Replay of the moment we think we ruined everything.
And here’s the problem:
You cannot step into a new thing while dragging old chains.
God is saying: “I didn’t bring you this far to keep you stuck in what used to be.”
Some of you are still trying to recover what God is trying to replace.
i’ve heard it and said it plenty of times, God i want to be back to where i was with you…
You’re praying, “God, bring it back.” And God says, “I’m not bringing it back, I’m bringing you forward.”

POINT 2: THE NEW THING IS ALREADY HAPPENING

look look look, I love this
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Church NOW.
Not later. Not after the breakthrough. Not after the diagnosis changes. Not after the bank account looks better.
Now it springs up.
Which means the issue is not timing. The issue is perception.
That’s why God asks a question: “Do you not see it?”
and heres the beautiful part, he doesnt “Do you deserve it?” Not “Did you earn it?” But can you see it?
Because God can be moving and we miss it if we’re only looking for familiar patterns.
Some of you are saying, “God, I don’t see anything changing.”
Just because you don’t see it yet doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
But seeds don’t announce themselves. Roots grow in silence. Spring always starts underground.
So trust God, again 2 Corinthians 5.7
2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV
for we walk by faith, not by sight.
are you walking by faith? are you truly trusting him??
well pastor you don’t get it…im in the wilderness right now…im in my darkest toughest moment right now…

POINT 3: GOD SPECIALIZES IN IMPOSSIBLE PLACES

yeah…Isaiah 43.19
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Conclude
Luke 9:62 ESV
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Church, I believe this word is for right now.
Listen I believe God is saying:
Stop living in the pain
Stop reliving the regret
Stop limiting Me to your last season
Because this season requires new eyes.
Understand, You’re not behind. You’re not forgotten. You’re not disqualified.
You’re standing at the edge of something new. RIGHT NOW
Let me ask you what God asked Israel: can you see it??
Can you sense it? Can you feel the shift? Can you hear heaven whispering, “Let go… I’ve got more”?
God didn’t bring you through what you survived just to leave you stuck where you are.
There is a new thing in your obedience.
new thing in your surrender.
new thing on the other side of letting go.
If you’re ready to stop living in the former things and step into what God is doing NOW
If you’re ready to let go of what was so you don’t miss what is
If you’re ready to say, “God, open my eyes, I don’t want to miss it”…
Then this is the moment.
Lift your hands. Open your heart. And pray this with me
Pray
Preach With Fire God!!
HOLY SPIRIT TAKE OVER!!!!
