Good morning and welcome to church, it is great to see you all hear as we worship God and thank Him for all He has done for us. If you are visiting with us today, we pray that you will be blessed and that you would encounter Jesus and all He has for you. We look forward to catching up with you around morning tea.

LET US PRAY

Father I Pray that as I share your word today, Your Holy Spirit will bring revelation to our lives and we will have a better understanding of being thankful, I pray that our minds will be alert and our hearts open to receive all that you have for us today. Amen

INTRODUCTION

I am excited for this year, Ps Rachel and I have been talking, praying for a great year filled with the power of God outworking in all of our lives in every area. During this time we felt strongly and believe that God was not finished with us on the theme of: “A new thing is coming”. So we have been waiting on God, because we want to know HIs heart, His Plans and purposes for us for this year.

What are your plans for this year, have you prayed about, spent time with God weighing up your dreams, desire and purpose. Or are you coming into this year with the heart and perception of what ever will be will be. If whatever will be will be is the take that you are going with,

Discovering who am I, the meaning and purpose for being here.

So often I have been asked the question:

What am I here for?

What is my purpose for life?

What should I be doing? or

What can I do? ( I am just a nobody)

I would like to encourage you to go beyond that. Having dreams, vision, desires and purpose for yourself will give you a drive to keep going, a drive to keep growing and believing for more from God. God has called you and I for more than just the here and now. He has a plan for your lives (To give us a future and a hope Jer 21:11).

Jesus gives us:

He gives us meaning and purpose,

He give us strength to overcome,

He gives us wisdom,

He give us a relationship with Him,

He gives us an identity,

He give us family.

God seals up in our hearts, His dreams for our lives. Job 33

So do you have dreams / desires? I want you to have them, but I also want you to do something with those dreams and desires.

We all dream dreams but will we do something with them.

He understood and wanted everyone to be equal, in the end cost him his life when he was assassinated.

POINT 1 WHAT IS YOUR GOD DREAM? (READY)

What is your God dream? What is it that you know God has given to you, that you cannot get away from.

Martin Luther famously posted his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517

Martin Luther was nearly struck by lightning in a severe thunderstorm on July 2 1505, an event that terrified him and led him to cry out, "Help! Saint Anna, I will become a monk!". This vow, made while fearing death and divine judgment, became the catalyst for him abandoning his law studies and entering the Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt, forever changing his path and ultimately sparking the Protestant Reformation.

JOSEPH HAD DREAMS

Genesis 37:1–11 NIV

1 Jacob lived in the land where his father had stayed, the land of Canaan. 2 This is the account of Jacob’s family line. Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them. 3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him. 5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: 7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.” 8 His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said. 9 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” 10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

POINT 2 WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR GOD DREAM? (AIM)

THERE ARE NO EXCUSES

We all try to come up with them,

I don’t no if I can do that

I don’t have the resources - you won’t give me the resource

If anyone could have an excuse, it was Joseph.

His brothers sold him into slavery

He is falsely accused in Potiphar’s house, by Potiphar’s wife

He is in prison

Joseph held onto the dreams that God had given him as a young adolescent boy.

15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

READY AIM FIRE

I believe that whatever we aim at is what you will hit/get.

What are we aiming at

The posture that we take determines the outcome we will get

CALL IT OUT OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Step up in all that God has for us and called us to.

Mature and grow and see what God can do in and through us.

8 “We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

Genesis 41:15–16 NIV

15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” 16 “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”

Joseph is then put in charge of all of Egypt, he was second in charge under Pharaoh

Ezekiel 37:1–10 NIV

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. SALVATION OPPORTUNITY

Salvation can only come through Christ Jesus
