Seeking God’s Kingdom Is A prerequisite For A Life Of Purpose

Introduction

Is it me or can you see that it seems like were living in a world that is filled with distraction. I mean it seems like we find ourselves chasing after the things that don’t really matter.

We get caught up in the hustle and the bustle of life worrying about stuff like our jobs our finances, and our families.

Fact of the matter sometimes it seems like we’re running on a treadmill, moving fast but your not getting nowhere.

Can I inform you today that Jesus in his infinite wisdom gives us a clear path:

When he tells us in Matthew 6:33 to seek ye first the kingdom of God can I tell you this is not a suggestion oh no my brothers and sisters this is a command.!

I know sombody asking pastor what does that mean to seek first the kingdom of God?

Im glad you asked what it means is to prioritize His will over your own will and desires.

It means placing His desires above your desires!

Its about aligning your hearts with His Heart!

Our plans with His Plans !

Tell somebody Pastor talking about making blessing flow.

Tell somebody else its a divine exchange.

It happen when we stop worrying about and turn it all over to him and seek Him.

Hold up let me help somebody

Its not about seeking the kingdom for what you can get.

Its more about who we become while were seeking

when we place our prioritize in the Kingdom of God now we become Kingdom Minded people.

Life and thoughts began to change we don’t see like we use to. we see it through His eyes.

We begin to care about what He cares about We become vessels of his love and Grace, We become a light in dark places.

Have you been any place lately and people changed or left because you showed up and you became light in there dark place.

Listen Jesus was preaching the sermon on the mount and we find Him laying out some principles of His Kingdom.

The crowd is filled with people from all walks of life poor, rich, anxious, and hopeful.

just like us life was lifing and many were consumed with their daily needs.

Jesus interrupts their fears and their schedule reminds them that their Heavenly Father knows what they need before they could even ask for it.

THIS IS WHY WE MUST

I. Prioritize Our Purpose

A. Making God’s Kingdom the primary focus not just an item on a to do list

can I ask you a question where do you spend your time and how much time do you spend doing it.

Jesus contrast the kingdom of God with the kingdom of the world. He says, Do Not Lay Up for yourselves treasures on earth.

because earthly treasures are what I call transitory there noot long lasting there temporary not Eternal.

they rust, rot, burn, or even be stolen

here is my shout the treasures of the Kingdom of God are eternal

B. Shifting from earthly anxieties (food clothes) to divine directives, as illustrated by Ravens and birds vs humans

can I tell you its bad when your spending time worrying about stuff you have no real control over

Jesus tells us to look at the birds of the sky, They dont sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them aren’t you worth more than they.

Can I tell you Jesus is calling His believers to trust His provision.

Yes I know its a radical shift in perspective but let me tell you I didn’t say Jesus did He said seek ye first the Kingdom of God

instead of chasing after all this worldly stuff he said chase the heart of God.

C. Recognizing that the true capacity comes from right priorities ,

God creates space when He’s first where are you spending your time who are you giving your time to.

A. Defining righteousness as aligning our character, action, and desires with God’s

There has to be an attitude change it has to be more about Him and less about you.

Tell yourself stop being so important

B. Actively choosing obedience, service, and pattern of His character in daily life

did I tell you earlier this is not a suggestion but a DIVINE MANDATE

it calls for you to put some pep in your step it requires some urgency and some intentionality.

He has to be a priority.

don’t worry about your neighbor ask yourself are you seeking God’s Kingdom or are you just fitting him in your busy schedule on Sunday morning

C. Living as citizen of His Kingdom bringing heavens values to earth in tangible ways (praying serving etc.)

I hear you yea I said righteousness I ned to help you and tell you its about living with His standards and not our own.

can I suggest to you thats the problem with the church today were trying to be like the world and not like Christ

listen we are suppose to take on the character of christ not the ways of the world.

when we seek His righteousness we become change agents and we change the world that need change so bad.

A. The promise is not instant wealth but it is a long term vision of restoration and provision for the kingdom work

Tell somebody get your mind right we have to have a kingdom mindset

when our mind is set on Him and the kingdom can I tell you God can take care of the rest

somebody said its like a divine economy when we invest in His Kingdom we receive blessing beyond measure.

Yes life will have it’s challenges the rain will fall the wind will blow His promise isn’t that we will avoid storms but that our foundation is built on seeking God FIRST

So go on and ask yourself am I spending my time building my life on shifting sands of this world or am i building on the solid rock of God’s eternal kingdom.
