If we truly believe the Bible is good news, why are we not proclaiming it openly?

1. If the News Truly Saved Your Life, You Would Not Whisper It
1. If the News Truly Saved Your Life, You Would Not Whisper It
Luke 8:39 – “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.”
Illustration (Real Life):
When someone survives a deadly illness or a near-fatal accident, they do not keep quiet. They tell coworkers, strangers, and even people in grocery lines. The story spills out because gratitude demands expression. Silence would feel dishonest.
Application:
If Christ truly rescued you from sin and death, your silence contradicts your confession. Ask yourself: Have I reduced salvation to a private preference instead of a public testimony? Begin by intentionally sharing your testimony with one person this week—out loud, not online only.
2. Fear of Man Has Muted the Message of Heaven
2. Fear of Man Has Muted the Message of Heaven
Proverbs 29:25 – “The fear of man brings a snare…”
Illustration (Real Life):
A smoke alarm does not worry about offending anyone. It is designed to be loud because lives are at stake. A quiet alarm is a defective alarm.
Application:
If fear of rejection is silencing you, remember this: no one has ever died from being mocked for Christ—but many have died without hearing His name. Pray daily: “Lord, free me from the snare of people’s opinions.” Boldness is not personality-based; it is Spirit-empowered.
3. We Have Mistaken Comfort for Christianity
3. We Have Mistaken Comfort for Christianity
Matthew 16:24 – “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself…”
Illustration (Real Life):
Emergency responders do not wait until conditions are convenient. They move toward danger while others move away. Comfort is surrendered because mission is urgent.
Application:
Ask honestly: Has my Christianity cost me anything? Begin disrupting comfort by engaging people where faith conversations feel inconvenient—work breaks, family gatherings, or community events. The gospel advances when comfort is sacrificed.
4. We Trust in Programs More Than People Being Sent
4. We Trust in Programs More Than People Being Sent
Romans 10:14 – “How shall they hear without a preacher?”
Illustration (Real Life):
A lifeguard does not point drowning people toward a building called “Rescue Center.” He runs into the water himself. Presence saves lives, not signage.
Application:
The church gathers to be equipped—but it is sent to be effective. Stop outsourcing evangelism to events and services. You are the sermon your city is hearing daily. Decide: I am not just attending church; I am being deployed.
5. We Have Forgotten What Hell Really Means
5. We Have Forgotten What Hell Really Means
Luke 16:27–28 – “Send him to my father’s house… lest they also come to this place of torment.”
Illustration (Real Life):
If a bridge is out ahead, any moral person would wave down traffic, shout, and even stand in the road to stop oncoming cars. Silence would be cruelty, not politeness.
Application:
Re-align your compassion. Pray until eternity becomes real again—not abstract. Let love, not guilt, compel you. People are not projects; they are souls with eternal destinies.
6. We Confuse Being “Nice” With Being Loving
6. We Confuse Being “Nice” With Being Loving
Ezekiel 33:6 – The watchman who does not warn is held accountable.
Illustration (Real Life):
A doctor who withholds a diagnosis to avoid upsetting a patient is not kind—he is negligent. Love speaks hard truth because life is at stake.
Application:
Loving people means risking misunderstanding to offer salvation. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you words that are truthful, gentle, and bold. Love is not silence; love is warning with compassion.
7. The Holy Spirit Was Given for Power, Not Privacy
7. The Holy Spirit Was Given for Power, Not Privacy
Acts 1:8 – “You shall receive power… and you shall be witnesses to Me.”
Illustration (Real Life):
A fire that stays contained eventually dies. Fire that spreads brings light and warmth. Pentecost did not make the disciples quieter—it drove them into the streets.
Application:
Stop asking the Holy Spirit only for comfort. Ask Him for courage. Every day, pray: “Holy Spirit, interrupt my routine and lead me to someone who needs Jesus today.” Power unused is power wasted.
Closing Exhortation
Closing Exhortation
If we truly believe the Bible is good news, then silence is not humility—it is contradiction. The gospel was never meant to be hidden in hearts alone; it was designed to be proclaimed from rooftops, streets, workplaces, and cities.
